Dumbest Remark Of The Night
IBD's Capital Hill ^ | 1/19/2010 | David Hogberg

Ezra Klein claims:

There’s nothing about Scott Brown’s victory that needs to derail health-care reform in particular, or the rest of Obama’s 2010 agenda in general.

You mean that Democrats in Congress won’t see any need to stop the health care overhaul after a Republican wins Ted Kennedy’s former Senate seat in one of the bluest states in the nation by promising to be the 41st vote against Obamacare? Really?

Especially after the Dems talking point about how they were going to pass this bill for Ted Kennedy. They even talked of naming it for him. Oh, the irony!

Ezra Klein (born May 9, 1984) is a blogger for the Washington Post. He was formerly an associate editor for The American Prospect political magazine

Besides his online contributions, Klein worked on Howard Dean's primary campaign in Vermont in 2003

Slate has said that he is a "liberal darling"

The Economist magazine named him one of the "minds of the moment"

I wonder if that came before or after he tweeted “This seems like fairly decisive evidence that the dream can, in fact, die.”

The Libs still don’t get it. I actually watched MSNBC tonight to see how they were taking the loss and their mantra was damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead. It’s like they live in some parallel universe.

I just traded emails with Klein, he honestly didn’t know that Olympia Snow and Susan Collins were the most liberal GOP Senators. He claimed that Kit Bond of Missouri is the most liberal Republican.

And this guy is writing a daily blog for the Washington Post?

Yep, I'd say 'liberal darling' sums it up very nicely.

So long as folks like Ezra Klein are what pass for the intelligentsia on the left, I like our chances.

Not sure this was the dumbest statement.

He was on Maddow's show where her conclusion from the result was that democrats, more than ever, need to pass healthcare reform. She said (Rachel, not Ezra) that they should pass whatever they can get through reconciliation, no matter what.

I wonder if there isn't some studio exec cringing with the background on that show chock full of beefy looking lesbians. Poor selection of venue. My guess is they will never pick a bar for the Maddow show again.
