Would it be wrong if the beach where in Dominica? The Bahamas? should all vacations be canceled, everywhere?
This area in question was not hit by the quake. The cruise company has pleged to donate all it’s profits from the excursions to aid releif.
So what’s it to be fo the poor people living on the edge? Vacation trade is vital for the people living around the area.
If the ships stop coming they get nothing. I vote better a little than nothing.
I say capitalism is the way out for Haiti, so let the tourism and related donations help them. The locals who undoubtedly work on the private beach appreciate the continued pay checks, I’m sure.

I’ve been to that port myself. Employes a fair amount of locals whom I sure would not be happy to see the cruise ships go. No sense in inflicting any more hardships on the Haitians. Put down the cocktails if it makes you feel better and leave a nice tip for the Haitian workers.
I don’t think I want to see their next round of TV commercials......
