Dems getting “cold feet” on ObamaCare
Hot Air ^ | 1/19/10 | Ed Morrissey

Despite Barack Obama’s bravado in declaring that he will “fight on” for ObamaCare and Nancy Pelosi’s insistence on charging forward, the two Democratic leaders may find fewer and fewer people following behind them. After watching the voter revolt in Massachusetts do the unthinkable — put a Republican in reach of the seat held by the Kennedys for almost 60 years — Democrats around the country are suddenly rethinking the bill that got deep-blue voters angry in what had been a reliable bastion for liberalism:

Won't believe it until the dims are swept out of power. They are caught in a no-win situation. They know this chance will likely not come again for a long time. They also know voting for it will damgage them for a long time.

they need to start going on record so they can use the “I voted for it before I voted against it” excuse.

The Senate Bill will likely be introduced into the House, only to give all the Dems an opportunity to get on record as having voted against it.

They'll curse Kerry for ruining that trick with his "Voted for it before he voted against it" clip.

If the American people really wanted universal single payer health care, we would have it.

Health care in this nation may have its problems, but the solution is not single payer health care.

When all is said and done, this may be the “bridge too far” for the Democrats. Will they be able to fall back and regroup now that they have awoken the sleeping majority in this nation? That depends on how many are left after the 2010 elections. It is not over yet, but I think it is the begining of the end for the left in this nation.

This election in Massachusetts isn't about health care.

It's a repudiation of Barack Obama's absent leadership skills. He HATES America.

Simple as that.

Everytime I hear 0 talk about how HCR is an idea that has been around for 100 years I want to scream out, “maybe it hasn’t been passed for over 100 years because the American people know it is a bad idea.”

I burnt all the feet off my Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosie, Obama voodoo dolls.

So, the cold feet analogy makes no sense to me.

...deep-blue voters angry in what had been a reliable bastion for liberalism

More than a bastion of liberalism, but the battle front for moonbat fringe leftism of the tallest order. It will be tremendously instructive to find out how the voters in Bawney Fwank's district voted in this election.

It’s never the end of the Left, and it’s fatal to think so.

The Left is either advancing, holding their ground and screaming like chimps, or re-grouping for another advance.

If conservatives or Republicans return to power, they will scream over every penny of budget or tax cuts.

Advance, scream, and regroup.

Evil never sleeps.

It’s important to remember who supported nationalizing health care when they thought it safe to do so. Regardless of how they may weasel and backtrack in face of the onrushing tide, these people still need to be removed from office.
