The truth finally outs. The Democratic Party has tipped so thoroughly into paranoid-lunatic territory they can no longer hide it. Scott Brown says it's "him vs. the Machine". Over the last 10 days, that's changed. It's now "The Machine vs. The People".
Keith Olberman says Scott Brown is "an irresponsible, reactionary, homophobic, racist" teabagger. John Kerry says Brown's supporters are "dangerous" and "violent". Countless other Dems parade before the cameras to tell us repeatedly how we-the-people are simply too stupid to understand their magnificent health care reform.
It used to be they reserved such disdain for Southern "rednecks" (God, Guns, and Gays). Then it broke out north of the Mason Dixon line after Obama let the mask slip with his "clingers" remark. Without a hint of embarrassment, other Dems defended him by openly defining Pennsylvania as "Philadelphia and Pittsburgh with Alabama in between". West Virginia, of course, wasn't spared: their own Congressman openly declared his constituents were racists. Then came the Sarah Palin rallies, dismissed as full of racist, mind-numbed retards (yes, they revived that word). Who knew Ohio was full of Joe-the-Plumbers?!
After the general election, the barbs were aimed more at Obama opponents in general, less geographically. If you opposed the Dem agenda, you were a racist. Then we found out the good people of Cambridge, Massachusetts harbored racist cops. The racial discussion leading up to the Beer Summit was a raw display of what many of us have known all along: Dems will play the race card against anyone, anywhere if it serves their agenda (even if it makes no sense, as in the case of Henry Louis Gates).
Thus sprang up the Tea Parties. Suddenly Dems were finding these supposed-racist- thugs at their town halls in Missouri. And Minnesota. And Nevada, Ohio, Wisconsin, California, etc. They were everywhere, threatening America!
And now it's Massachusetts' turn. The good people of Boston/Cambridge and the Berkshires will be spared. But the rest of the state, in voting for Brown, will have shown themselves to be no different than those Southern "rednecks" of old: racist, homophobic, violence-prone, etc. And it's not just political hyperbole...Dems and liberals REALLY BELIEVE it.
The mask hasn't just slipped. Olberman and Kerry ripped it off entirely. They're shocked, shocked!...to discover their beloved Massachusetts is also full of "teabaggers", too stupid to see through Scott Brown's dangerous facade (he drives a TRUCK, for crying out loud!). It turns out that ALL of America is Redneck Nation, save for a few politically-correct islands of Dem-machine controlled urban centers and mainstream newsrooms.
Quelle horreurs!
So, Massachusetts, be ready for the onslaught. To paraphrase the old saying, you said nothing when they slandered Southerners. When they committed verbal and physical violence against tea partiers, you were silent. And now they're coming for you. No one holds your reticence against you. The media told you it was all true---you were superior to all those backwaters of America---as long as you went along with the Dem playbook.
But we've got your back. Now that the knives are turning on you, please take the time to consider how those of us in fly-over country have been smeared long before you. You see, it wasn't true of us either. We're not racists. We're not rednecks. We're not stupid. And we're not violent. Despite all you've heard, we're just ordinary people who don't like being told how to think.
Welcome to the club.
You can be a slave of the Dem Machine
Or a free Man or Woman.
Choose.
Brown couldn’t buy political advertizing that effective. KO’s giving Scott a freebie.
“Theyve gone completely nuts.
No way. That suggests they were not completely nuts before...”
Gragree. These arse-clowns have always been nuts but ‘08 allowed them to completely throw off any covers and facades of rationality and come out into the sunlight as the true, real Trotsky-ites they are.
And, sunlight kills germs like these........
They are talking about Democrats and independents. Should have added that they probably are clinging bitterly to guns and religion as well. What can you expect from MSLSD.
Well written rant; can’t even add to it, except to say that I think it’s important to hear or know how ‘the enemy/other side’ thinks.
And, if Brown wins today, tomorrow will be THE most telling day of all for the Dems.-no masks will be worn tomorrow.
As a matter of fact, I mentioned flyover country in my post.
It goes to the heart of my post.
Imagine the surprise when residents of Gardner, Fitchburg and Peabody discover they are now flyover country!
When the insults start flying their way, we should defend them, welcome them to the ranks. Turns out all those stories they heard about Redneck Nation were really aimed at them...they just didn’t know it yet.
I’m about tired of being called a racist because I despise this “magic nigro”.
Capitalism not socialism.
Thanks. It’s funny how it evolved as I wrote.
I started out intending to simply point out how this race has turned into “The Machine vs. The People”.
But then I thought about the geographic angle and how the Redneck Nation label has spread over the last two years. From the South, to Pennsyvania, then Ohio, then W. Va, then...well, tea parties and town halls revealed it to be a nationwide phenomenon! Only New England was largely singled out as more enlightened. Until now.
Now the birthplace of our democracy will feel the wrath. It would be easy to say “told ya so”. But I’d rather embrace them and, as I asked above, have them reassess all they’ve been told about their fellow flyover-countrymen. Perhaps they’ll begin to see MSNBC for what it is...from there, it won’t take long for them to see it in the Boston Globe and the NY Times and all the other Dem mouth organs. I pray it lasts.
PING
BTW, if you wrote that piece, nice job!
Sure took them long enough. I expected this tactic a couple of days ago.
Wow! Great post! I may have to archive that one to read over and over again!
I think it will last because Obama and Nancy&Co. will still be around ALL year to do and say stupid, elitist things.
I live in NE and there was a Tea Party meeting in a little, tiny town that has 2 Prep schools and a Labor Union training school, artists studios, B&B’s, horse farms etc.
350 people-350!-came to the meeting. (I couldn’t attend-my dog is dying). AND it was held AT a town elementary school.
To me, that speaks volumes.
But you’re right; when the “clinging to religion” comment was made,I’m sure a lot of people here thought he was right. After all, we all know how those toothless rednecks are.
Never did they think, a year later, they’d be standing next to one, nodding in agreement and then sharing a cup of coffee while having a discussion about the Constitution; I mean, who knew that ‘Rednecks’ could even read!
I see this TPX movement as Americans turning off their TVs and getting to know their neighbor better and best of all, taking back their country from the John Kerrys and Michelle Obamas of the world.
Who actually wrote this piece? The byline says Olberman, but the words made way too much sense - especially the accusations of shenanigans with the race card.
I wouldn’t stress over Olbermann. Remember, MSNBC’s audience is so miniscule that when he said this live he was talking to effectively nobody. I bet this YouTube clip has a bigger audience than his live broadcast.
I wrote the rant. I presumed readers would watch the Olberman video, wherein he declares how awful it is that Masschusetts voters might elect Scott Brown:
Olberman: "In Scott Brown we have an irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, teabagging supporter of violence against woman and against politicians with whom he disagrees."
Olberman: “In Scott Brown we have an irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, teabagging supporter of violence against woman and against politicians with whom he disagrees.” Not that there is anything wrong with that. Olberman did not mean it in a hateful way. It was sort of a compliment. We know leftists would not be hateful.
Gotta love that psychological projection. They tell us so much about who they really are.
