This will just make you sick, as well as angry and heartbroken. CNN is reporting that Medical staff were withdrawn from a temporary hospital for safety concerns, leaving the sick to suffer … alone. "Earthquake victims, writhing in pain and grasping at life, watched doctors and nurses walk away from a field hospital Friday night after a Belgian medical team evacuated the area, saying it was concerned about security. The decision left CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Sanjay Gupta as the only doctor at the hospital to get the patients through the night." Read the whole thing. It will sicken you.

A doctor from a news agency is the only one who dared to stick around. What the sam hill is going on there.

It was probably time to take a vacation for the Belgians. It’s all about lifestyle for the Europeans.

I read this linked from Drudge and shared it on Facebook. Props to Sanjay Gupta for hanging in there all night with the patients and using what CNN staff he had as helpers plus the Haitian nurse who refused to leave with the other doctors. It is truly shameful and as Gen. Honore said the patients should come first and the docs should “man up”. And to make matters worse the Belgian doctors took their medical supplies with them when they left.

I will share with you a little sick and suffering from Florida. Observed this more than once but I have a Reagan Democrat co-worker.

1. The co-worker went to those minute clinic due to cold or flu. Our insurance is okay but not great. They saw a working class working stiff American guy who is sick. Looked like he works in a trade. Must have been sick cause most men put it off. It cost him $100 + and you could tell it was financially going to hurt him. On top of that he probably had to get a prescription out of pocket.

2. Making copies at Staples one day. Two nicely dressed Haitian women carrying Coach handbags were making copies and jabbering in Creole (sort of French). I was minding my business but carefully looked down to see what they were copying. MediCaid paperwork for free healthcare.

I have seen it many times in CVS and Walgreens where illegals are getting free prescription drugs (no generics for them) while Americans are trying to get generics, cut down the size of the drug order or something to pay for their drugs.

It was CNN’s chief med correspondent Sanjay Gupta.
The UN was saying they didn’t ask the doctors to leave supposedly, that it was the decision of the head belgian guy, but I read the UN sent buses to pick them up.

The UN needs a new logo. I suggest a chicken.

Both ends of the spectrum there in your own experience. Many of us see it but are afraid to say anything about it.

Kudos to you.

I bet if they had left the medical supplies they would have been stolen.

If these doctors volunteer to help people and are being threatened by the locals with machetes then I would leave Haiti.

Sounds like Haitian health care before the earthquake.

If I were practicing medicine in an emergency and worried for my safety — aren’t they talking about machete gangs running amok?— I would leave, too. They were asking for security people and the UN told them they had to bring their own/ they wouldn’t provide them.

Two sides to this story.

Another thing people need to be careful about - Rush has roughly said the same thing. Beware of the liberal newsmedia stories from Haiti because they are going to all be stage managed by Obama.

This story was from CNN? I would be a bit lerry. The only time I am exposed to CNN is in airports and plus Hyatt hotels which I am avoiding (Pritzkers = friend of Obama). Also Delta airlines which I am also avoiding.

Everytime I come in contact with CNN I want to hurl. It is like BET. Every story with whites is about Klansmen in the south and most stories have something to do with Obama or African Americans or MLK. CNN and MSNBC are sickening.

Any coverage on Haiti has an Obama agenda and be very wary. Watch the movie Wag The Dog to figure what is really going on.

I don’t think Haiti is where amok is endemic.

Seriously, why didn’t Dr. Sanjay Gupta get attacked? The thugs more afraid of a news crew than of UN “peace keepers”?

Totally agree. The doctors are volunteering to help people and have to worry about Haitians with machetes? If they cannot behave long enough for the doctors to treat people then the doctors are wasting their time there.

Sorry folks but Haiti is not some fairyland that the Liberal Obama News Media is painting.

Necklaces were common - i.e. putting burning tires around the necks of victims in Haiti.

This is the CNN story here:
Evil and cowardly white European doctors abandon noble suffering Haitians but are saved by brave CNN employees.

Sadly conservatives are falling for this news coverage being staged by Obama’s goons. Rush said the same thing and has already been smeared for saying it.

You may be saying - but I see it on TV. Yeah TV and CNN never lie.

Why? They were leaving and the CNN guy and his film crew were there. They got them packing on film. They took their stuff because it was “their” stuff.
They weren’t being threatened, they were concerned about stuff “in the area”.
Why couldn’t they just say to the CNN guys (who had some security I think)- hey, we’re worried about violence in the area or looters or whatever, can you guys hang out with us here til the morning when we have some blue helmets coming?

Maybe you should go read/see the whole story before you make things up.
