LOS ANGELES Once Richard Heene admitted in court that he wrongly sent authorities on a wild goose chase across Colorado to save the son he thought was aloft in a runaway balloon, friends and supporters seemed to take off just about as fast as that balloon.
All except for one: Steven C. Barber, a 48-year-old filmmaker who says he still believes Heene really thought his son was in the balloon as it spun wildly through the skies on Oct. 15. He plans to prove it, Barber says, when he releases the documentary "Balloon Boy: Guilty Until Proven Innocent" later this year.

BS. Balloon Boy’s dad was in on it from the start. Another person who consulted with him before the publicity stunt has already gone public. Plus, that balloon could not possibly have supported the weight of that kid. Watch the video of the balloon taking off and ask youself whether there could possibly be the weight of a child inside. No chance.
Ha, good luck with that, the boy said they did it for the show, and the dad confessed. How could anyone believe them now?
You know, I didn’t see what all the hype was about... all you needed was a good .22 to bring it down.
...see my post 4.
Look at how lightly the balloon is pulling at the tethers -- barely any lift at all. Notice how the balloon floats to and fro, not in a centered way as it would with a heavy center weight (the kid).
Not to mention that there was nothing for the kid to breathe inside the balloon...
And not to mention....NOBODY CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep — the phrase “who gives a flying ****” was never more apt.
Plus, why wasn't the father there when his child supposedly touched down. As a parent, would ANYONE stay home and not be out chasing that balloon IF you thought your child was in it?? This guy's a real jerk and loser - reminds me of Dan Rather. What did he say, fake but accurate?
And the sequel: Major Hasan, Innocent Until Proven Guilty
Fox News? The public obsession about the “Balloon Boy” story wasn’t healthy. The hysterical distraction propaganda shows us that political and social tactics are getting weirder all the time. Here’s some real news (re. Fox News).
