WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama has treated first lady Michelle Obama to a surprise birthday party at a tony Washington restaurant known for its commitment to organically grown food.
Surprising the birthday girl Saturday night at Restaurant Nora in Washington's Dupont Circle neighborhood were her mother Marian Robinson and friends, including Attorney General Eric Holder, White House Adviser Valerie Jarrett and Jocelyn Frye, who is a domestic policy adviser to both the president and first lady.
Mrs. Obama walked into the restaurant in a dark, knee-length frock. President Obama was dressed casually with no tie.
Michelle Obama will turn 46 on Sunday but her husband is expected to be in Massachusetts campaigning for Martha Coakley, who is in a tough fight with Scott Brown to replace the late Sen. Edward Kennedy and retain the Democratic party's 60-vote majority in the U.S. Senate.

That’s so sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
I’m sure it’ll get lots of space on the cover of “People” and “Us”.
HB2U, HB2U, HB Dear Mookie, HB2U.
Ugh....No telling what she wore...
First Course
“... a dark, knee-length frock,” according to the article. Of course, the devil is in the details ...
wookies age like dogs in years.
LOL
Isn’t that interesting.
I can tell the same Fred Sanford quote about Napolitano and its fine but For lady Obozo its off limits.
I actually prayed that the Washington Post had not stuck an apostrophe on the plural of the name Obama. But, alas, it is right there on the website--and probably in the print edition too. They need to give all these people vouchers to get them away from the curse of public school.
OOPS!
According to “Game Change” authors Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, the terms were simple: In exchange for Michelle’s backing, Obama agreed to a) quit smoking, b) attend his daughters’ parent-teacher conferences and musical recitals, and c) stay home on Sundays.
What to wear, what to wear ... for the fashun conchus she-wookie, the belt can `make or break’ the outfit, so what do you wear when your date is the biggest boob in the country?

How can a party be any sort of surprise? It’s what they do every day. Maybe the surprise is the location in DC... IOW, somewhere not requiring a ride on AF1.
Maybe that was just a temporary thing, until he won.
