So, ChrisInAR, you signed up to FR just a month ago

A MONTH ago??? Damn, your vision must be even worse than mine, which is 20/400. It looks like I can celebrate my 1st YEAR anniversary of being a member of FR as today!

This must be either a fraudulent stunt by lying democrats or God’s hand extended to the Massachussetts Senate race.

>>I think we all need to take a deep breath about conservative “purity”,<<

Which is what cost is the White House in 2008 and subsequently NY23

Not sure which way you intended that statement to go, but I'm assuming that you mean that too many conservatives stayed home, and gave us Obama and the donk in NY-23 over considerations of ideological purity.

Just speaking for myself, there is a tolerance threshold at which I will refuse to support a candidate, based on their voting record, and stance on the issues.

If the Republican is ideologically impossible to differentiate from a Democrat, or a liberal, then it's a no-brainer. I've got no dog in the fight, and will not vote.

On the other hand, if a Republican candidate has a record that indicates that they are at least mostly conservative, then I feel that it's my duty to choose them over the avowed liberal on the other side of the ticket.

That being said, all of us need to get involved at the party precinct level in order to have a voice in what candidates are chosen to run for office in the first place.

If we don't, we leave it to the party establishment to choose our candidates for us, and look where that's gotten us.

National Precinct Alliance

You picked a bad day to expose yourself, N00b.

Most deep plant trolls wait longer than a year.

It’s bad enough that Brown is poro-abortion, but now THIS? Thank God I don’t live is Massachusetts.

__________________________

I’d not heard he was a pro-abort..? In fact, I’d heard the opposite. Is this information available at his website? Has anyone got information stating explicitly that he has taken a pro-about stand?

Just because Brown respects that Roe v. Wade is settled law doesn’t make him pro-abortion.

Brown is running on the majority values of his constituents and I’m sure there are some who don’t agree with him but it appears the majority does. That’s what he needs to do, make his followers in Mass happy. He doesn’t need to make the people in Wyoming, etc happy.

Some people are never satisfied unless they find *the* perfect candidate for them. It must be lonely out there.

That quote was given to me by MindBender26 in post #73, so if you have a prob w/ that, go to him rather than me. It’s the 1st time I have ever heard it. I like it, though!

Those people are called “backdoor obama-supporters.”

Enjoy it all you want. It just doesn’t apply to ron paul.

It does apply to Brown, though.

>> If the Republican is ideologically impossible to differentiate from a Democrat, or a liberal, then it’s a no-brainer. I’ve got no dog in the fight, and will not vote.<<

People who thought like you gave us obama (maybe you did, maybe you didn’t) and the democratic majority that we are not turning our country into a Socialist Paradise.

And you don’t have a dog in this fight?

>>On the other hand, if a Republican candidate has a record that indicates that they are at least mostly conservative, then I feel that it’s my duty to choose them over the avowed liberal on the other side of the ticket.<<

And if not, you vote for his/her more liberal opponent. Good plan! Worked in 2008, didn’t it.

>>That being said, all of us need to get involved at the party precinct level in order to have a voice in what candidates are chosen to run for office in the first place.

On these latter points we must all agree.

But once the candidate is selected, we have to go with the LEAST BAD candidate.

Ideological purity is what gives us a socialist government.

Don't curse the choice; we all need to work hard earlier so we will have better choices.

Tea Party patriots need to fill the lower ranks of the Republican party establishment at the entry level in order to have a voice in who the party puts forth as candidates.

National Precinct Alliance

It all starts at the precinct level.

Exactly!

Perfectly Stated!

You better think about retreating. Go try to plant seeds of doubt among the SEIU supporters of Brown.

As for this Free Republic, our front line is advancing fast.

you're right-
you've been here a whole year today - but if you know FR - that means you're still a raw newbie -

but the main thing is, you're in here creating dissent and mucking up the subject of the thread -

we don't need that. We need to win this fight we're in today.

and as Paulist purist - you're part of the problem: you helped put obama in

These SEIU guys are legit - WITH the approval of their bosses - Local 911, New England Police Benevolent Association, and Local 504, International Brotherhood of Police Officers have both endorsed BROWN. - and the IBPO is an affiliate of the SEIU - add to that, one of them, I forget which, is the very union that Coakley’s husband belongs to - gotta love it
