HuffPost: Haiti’s Suffering Was First “Made in America”
NewsReal Blog ^ | 01/15/10 | Rhonda Robinson

It only took a few days for the Left to come crawling out from under the rubble and blame the U.S. for Haiti’s suffering. Stopping just short of blaming U.S. policies for the actual earthquake, Bill Quigley, in The Huffington Post portrays America as the evil master that holds the life of the poorest countries in the palm of its hand and squeezes.

“Part of the suffering of Haiti is indeed “Made in the USA.” While the earthquake would harm any country, actions by the United States have absolutely magnified the harm from the earthquake in Haiti.”

“How? In the last decade alone, the U.S. slashed humanitarian assistance to Haiti, blocked international loans, forced the government of Haiti to downsize, ruined tens of thousands of small farmers, and replaced the government with private non-governmental organizations.”

The first harm the US did was make Haiti a UN protectorate. The second harm was to make global socialist and monetary opportunist(crook) Bill Clinton its envoy.

The country has a snowballs chance in hell with the global socialists in charge.

Their primary agenda is reduction of the excess population on the globe. Their secondary agenda is to subjugate every living human being to their agenda.

WHAT!?!?!

So are we supposed to treat countries like Haiti as if they are pets that we care for from cradle to grave? At what point do these failed states have to stand on their own two like adults?

Oh, Haiti’s ails predate the Toon. A sucession of thuggish, graft-hungry dictators did damage long before Billy Jeff soiled the country with his presence.

"...actions by the United States have absolutely magnified the harm from the earthquake in Haiti.”

They're right: and Bill Clinton is the one who did it, when he made Aristide the President.

Blocking international loans sounds like we did them a favor. All international loans do to nations that can never pay is put a boot on their necks.

Typical liberal racists.

I guess black folks in Haiti are ‘smart’ enough to get their affairs in order without the help of enlightened American progressives. If these progressive suddenly cared sooo much about Haiti, then were the hell were they before this God awful earthquake hit.

I don’t know how much money the US has given Haiti freely over the past 2 decades, but I believe in the past 2 years alone we’ve given over a billions dollars to Haiti. Not a million, but a Billion with a B. Very few communities get that much aid in 1-2 years. Even military buildouts which began with Bush and the GWOT are taking 5 years, and in most bases, the total amounts expended are still below those amounts.

The infrastructure damages don’t mean they no longer exist, nor that they have to be completely removed. On the contrary, the bulk of it will the reused, and a large amount of components may have to be repaired either by replacement or by maintenance of failed parts.

The materials haven’t disappeared.

The more third parties intervene to repair and replace everything for Haitians without their internal repairs of their infrastructure, the less capable they will be to operate, maintain and repair their own industries when the third parties depart.

I don’t think its a very good use of taxpayer dollars to invade a country and then give it to the UN to run. We’ve already given them Kosovo and Somalia. Ignoring the evidence based on the freedom and quality of life of those countries is immoral and unethical.

Thinking Americans must protest. This giving over of a foreign country to the UN is a theft of out tax dollars, and our moral compass, but whats worse we put American lives in danger to give this countries to the global socialists. I can’t think of anything more ANTI-American that, can you?

France should repay the estimated $22 billion (modern equivalent) they forced Haiti to pay for their (French) lost slaves.

Democrats should shell out $500 each from their own personal fortunes for all the damage done to Haiti by Democrat Presidents and Congresses. ~ make that an annual indemnity.

Republicans are free of blame on this particular problem.

The US should have deposed Duvalier in 1957 when he took power, that would have saved everybody a lot of grief.

We should pull our occupation troops out of Haiti. They are there, obviously, to put a coup d’grace to the dignity of the Haitian people at a moment of distress.

/lefty logic off

I don’t know about the rest of you but I am sick and tired of being branded the bad guy. This country has done more for more countries than anyone else. They are the first to arrive and the last to leave. Who doesn’t like us I say: “Tough”!!!

...and replaced the government with private non-governmental organizations.

That's the UN that took over. Liberals are normally huge fans of the UN, now they talk about the UN in a negative light. I know it's too much to ask, but it's pathetic that liberals can't even keep their own story straight.

NO BLOOD FOR EARTHQUAKES! We just went through a bunch of lefty flagburners spitting on our troops because we went over to Iraq and "intervened in their domestic affairs". Yet, now we're supposed to go in with billions of dollars just to care for a two-bit backwater that has even less strategic importance than any country in the Middle East? Yeah, all the poor Haitians crying and begging in the streets is heart-rending, but don't forget we got lured into the same sort of emotional hearttug with Somalia. Haiti is simply waiting for our troops and aid workers to go down there and we'll soon have dead Americans getting dragged through the streets just like in Somalia.

When I was going through AIT at Ft. Leonard Wood in 1995, we had a bunch of Haitians up there receiving police training. They wore old '60's and 70's era Army fatigues, were escorted around by '60's hippie types (probably Clinton Administration people), and looked so lost and hopeless in the cold weather in Missouri. My question is, where are all those police we trained 15 years ago?

Just a few facts for you to remember

Haiti is a UN protectorate.
The UN isn’t sending any aid
The UN has declared in many of its position papers that the population of the world needs to be reduced to either 1 billion or 500 million depending who you’re talking to. That means lots and lots of deaths, whether it be from natural disasters or disease.

So are you surprised at the destruction and the sorry state of this country since the UN and global socialist Bill Clinton took it over? You shouldn’t be.
