The Obama administration announced Friday evening that it will allow an estimated 100,000 to 200,000 Haitians living in the United States illegally to stay and work in the country for 18 months as part of its response to Tuesday's earthquake. But officials warned Haitians that leaving their country now "will only bring more hardship to the Haitian people and nation."

WHAT

HOW THE HELL CAN THE STATES AND I BET MY STATE AFFORD TO HOUSE THEM , FEED THEM , PAY THEIR UTILITY BILLS ETC

We all know that they will not go back to Haiti at all and all this is , is for obama and his radicals to change the demographics of the voter.

If anyone opposes this then the left will cry racism as usual

Thew Black caucus and the NAACP have been trying to get them over for years much like the Cuban rule and now they have not let a crisis go to waste as Emanual says

I estimate about 50,000 to 100,000 will be brought here. Another 50,000 will simply come. They will be strategically placed in order to have the maximum electoral impact. Lastly, they will live better than tax paying Americans.

um, this might be a stupid question, but what the heck...How can he do any of this without Congressional approval? He has to have the money to do this - that comes from congress, and he cannot just make policy - this would have to be a law to have to come here.

I’ll bet the 4,000+ prisoners from Haiti’s collapsed jail will get here really fast and get on the welfare, free medical, foodstamp bandwagon while joining other criminals on our streets. They’ll enjoy the further “redistribution of wealth” they’ve all been promised as an entitlement.

can someone please tell me if the president can do this or does he need approval from congress etc
he’s already said that all illegals here have amnesty and now maybe up to 200,000 of them will come here.

How???

we have no money, how can they build their country?
How do we know they will go back after 18 months?
How will the states support them when states are doing cut backs ,broke, laying off workers etc?
How will the fed support them?
Where will they be housed?
What states do they go to?
How can we track them ?
Where is the housing going to come from?

there’s so many questions to be confronted so surely he can’t just order the military to bring them here can he?

I know Italy has an earth quake and not as bad as this but I don’t remember obama going nuts over that infact he hardly sent a bag of peanuts over to help italy.

Isn’t france more responsible for them seeing as it is that country which has them as a colony?

90% of all AIDS/HIV cases in the Caribbean come from haiti - are we at least doing some screening?

Don’t hold your breath on that one.

After 22 Years, HIV Travel and Immigration Ban Lifted

“The United States of America has moved one step closer to helping combat the stigma and ignorance that still too often guides public policy debates around HIV/AIDS,” said HRC President Joe Solmonese.

1/4/2010

Washington – The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, hailed the announcement that a ban on HIV positive visitors and immigrants entering the country, first established in 1987, has been lifted. A regulation promulgated by the Obama administration last summer and finalized in November goes into effect today, removing HIV from the list of communicable diseases that bar foreign nationals from entering the United States.

“Head still exploding....”

Think about this. If Hillary and the “O” can arbitrarily give ‘amnesty’ to 80,000 illegal Haitians because of the danger and strife going on in their country, they can sure as heck do it for 10 million Mexicans with the mess they have down there. And the GOP biggies won’t even try to stop them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporary_protected_status

Congress created the procedure for granting "Temporary Protected Status." So, there is a law, and its use is by no means unprecedented (prior administrations, R and D, have used this procedure - according to the Wiki, there are currently 8 countries to which TPS applies)

I don’t doubt that plenty of people will end up here. But note that this particular decision does not apply to those people - it only applies to haitians who are already here.
