Rush, Robertson, Take Heat

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh and televangelist Pat Robertson are being scolded for their comments in the immediate aftermath of an earthquake in Haiti that has killed tens of thousands, according to early estimates. Critics from both the left and right are denouncing their remarks as insensitive to the disaster and attempts to score political points off human tragedy.

Rush is being smeared, but Robertson is a silly old ass who should STFU with his hate and insanity.

Rush’s prediction has come true.

To compare Rush’s comments with Robertson’s comments is quite unethical and, at the very least, misleading. I am seeing similar headlines to this article popping up all over the internet. It’s pretty easy to tell which talking points are to be emphasized today by the Democrat machine.

Robertson is like a crazy old uncle; I expected much more from Rush. Very disappointed in what he said...I had heard him say this live and immediately said to myself “Oh no...”

I agree. Now the media will go on & on about Rush.

Read the story and you’ll find it short on facts and long on innuendo. It’s just more “macaca” journalism.

In the America of 2010, we already have an overabundance of "sensitivity" and a scarcity of "truth".

To all those who criticize folks who are blunt and painfully honest (even when they might be wrong)...

STFU

Some stories out of Yahoo.com are absolutely hilarious. For instance, this one.

“They are deeply insensitive,” said conservative commentator Pat Buchanan on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” sonorously intoning his pronunciamento from whatever moral highground he imagines himself to have.

Let me suggest something ~ that when Yahoo cites a facist on a commie network political discussion show we are probably best off IGNORING THEM.

Good grief!

My own prediction is that the Chicago crowd will leave Haiti worse off after the "rescue" than it is today.

I’m a Rush member etc but he put his foot in it here. Whatever he meant, it wasn’t the right timing. I’m glad Sarah made a decent statement and dontated something.

I agree, Rush can really be a jerk when it comes to these things. I know his reaction is more knee jerk anti government than anything, but it comes across as uncompassionate.

Yup, timing is everything.

Speaking on his radio show Wednesday, Limbaugh said the earthquake has played into Obama’s hands, allowing the president to look “compassionate” and “humanitarian” while at the same time bolstering his standing in both the “light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country.”

While Rush may be factually correct, he should have waited until after rescue efforts are finished, when there's lots of time for blame. (I know, I know, the lefturds didn't wait till after Katrina to blame Bush, still doesn't mean we have to sink to their level).

And Pat Robertson, for all his bumbling, does raise at least one good point: Haiti and the Dominican republic are on the same island; why is one successful and the other an abject failure?

Rush needed to resist his urge to talk about Obama and his response to the earthquake, IMO...what he said doesn’t hurt Obama, it makes Rush look small. Rescue work and aid is what “we” do in a disaster. Other American Presidents have responded to international catastrophes in much the same manner as Obama. You can’t prove somebody’s motive, in this situation, and if you ask me, Rush is politicizing the disaster in much the same way as he is accusing Obama of doing....I think he realized this too late and that’s why he went into the narrative about “tweaking” the media.

Obama has three practitioners up on the hill with him, including a descendant of Marie herself, they know.

The fact he sent Val out was ironic as well.

But we can understand Robertsons ideas and position, I mean like doesn’t he like play with snakes or whatever?

On the other hand, I would expect Rush to forget about the politics of it all, and just focus on the humanity, the same kind of humanity one would want if it was your brother or neighbor buried under the rubble.

It’s very disappointing for him to play the political angle.

Rush: The white Al Sharpton?

I agree. I have had quite a few snarky, insensitive thoughts pass through my brain regarding Haiti, and in the past, after similar events around the world, I've posted them, and I've seen how unwelcome they are. So this time around I've simply kept it to myself.

Rush may just like the headlines and the press. Surely he knows he'll get a reaction. I think he likes to have his name in the papers. Keeps him in business. I don't get paid to post comments here, so I have no reason to be an attention-seeking jerk.

I was thinking he could have done a Rush-a-thon, taken in contributions for aid, made a point about private sector generosity. That would have been the high road. He's got a tin ear about some of these things(no pun intended.)

Agree. I love Rush but I grit my teeth when he acts like a big kid and gleefully jumps into this stuff, apparently hoping to shock the Libs and catch some hell. Haiti = Black so he should be all the more careful. Rush careful? Nah. Damn the torpedoes. But he loses credibility especially among the independents looking for a voice of reason and truth.
