I'm really mad as hell--time for serious rebellion (total vanity)
Jan. 14, 2010 | self

Posted on 01/14/2010 7:29:52 PM PST by sand lake bar

I'm sorry, I've never posted a vanity before, and if you moderators want to pull this, I completely understand. But I am bitterly, inflammably angry over the idea of Congress passing a tax on health insurance that would not apply to union or state and federal workers.

No. I won't pay it. I'll put all my savings in non-attachable places and fight like hell against this outrage. This is Lexington, Concord, sacred honor time as far as I'm concerned. I've told my family, I'm telling my friends, and it wasn't enough so I'm venting here, too. I bet most all Freepers feel exactly the same way.

Again, sorry for the vanity. But like Kirk stomping on the Klingon's hand in Star Trek III, I say to you Obama and your ilk, "I have had enough of you!"

Network? Yeah, we’re all in this together. We need to network in small groups and . . . or did you mean the movie? Yeah, that was a movie quote of Network. I had a glass of smart*ss and it’s still kickin’ in. Sorry.

I'm praying Brown wins his election next week, that will give me hope that lots of other people are waking up too. But if BOcare is passed, then I plan on becoming Amish to be exempt from the tax and force to buy the insurance.

I'll be talking to family, friends and neighbors to join me.

If you become Amish, may I please have your guns and ammo... oh, and what kind of car do you drive and I could use a large flat screen for my shop.

From memories of war resistors back in the day and knowledge of my Amish neighbors, the Amish do not accept converts, for the most part.

You may want to investigate the Mennonites and Hutterites, but, be warned: there are parts of their cultures that are quite alien to others.

Again, back in the 60s, the law determining whether or not someone was really philosophically against all war, were fairly sophisticated. I will bet any future determination for the purpose of exemption from the HC horror will be just the same.

One reason the Anabaptists are exempt is that they believe the future is in God’s hands. They carry _no_ insurance of any kind. So if you have auto or life or home insurance, any rejection of health care insurance will be seen as insincere. They have large families and the community is inter-related, so they chip in to care for their family or to provide the cash to get them treatment. I have known Amish who travel to Mexico for treatment because it is cheaper.

I have wondered if church groups and other affinity groups could become mutual insurance groups. This was common decades ago.

Well, the Obama Administration thinks it can do any bizarre thing it wants to, and get away with it. Like handing GM and Chrysler to the United Auto Workers. What law allows them to do that? Pass a tax on your insurance, but exempt some people from it, for no reason? Violates equal protection of the laws. Does the Obama Administration care? Doesn’t seem to.

Ditto the sentiment!

If we don't tar and feather (dictionary: criticize severely and devastatingly; excoriate) them they will czar and fetter us.

Yeah Christopher Lloyd made a great Klingon, especially as Kirk's personal devil. He had just killed Kirk's son, of course. And Kirk had done everything, including sacrificed his ship and career, even tried to reason with the bastard.

"You fool," he said. "look around you. This planet is breaking apart. We'll both die here."

"Fine, then that's the way it shall be."

There just was no reasoning with the guy, even to the bitter end.

I'm an STTOS kinda guy, but I have to admit it, I was thinking of Insurrection, too.

"Lock and load."

You asked about faith-based insurance. There are Christian Insurance groups that are constructed like the Amish. They are non-profit co-ops. I can’t recall the name of the biggest one off hand (senior moment).

I slept on it, had a chance to cool down, but I’m still as cold-eyed mad and determined as I was last night. The leftist thugs need to be served warning.
