Also, people in Fargo are used to bad weather and probably had stockpiles of food as many do. I doubt the Haitians make enough money to stockpile food (probably live day to day on food) but also, if they did, it's all beneath a huge pile of rubble.
No food, no shelter, no water, no comparison.
