From what I understand, it is a historical fact that Haiti was dedicated to the devil in its establishment. Many of us would agree that it is good from something to be dedicated to God in its creation. It therefore follows that there just "might" be a problem if something is similarly dedicated to the devil in its creation. Would you rather dedicate your child to God or the devil upon its birth?

Now if the "historical fact" is being questioned, that's one thing. But the uproar over the negative impact of something being dedicated to satan, is yet another example of the anti-Christ spirit eminating from this WH and the MSM.

Robertson: It may be a blessing in disguise. There may be a massive rebuilding of that country. ...Christy, something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it. They were under the heel of the French, Napoleon III or whatever, and they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said we will serve you if you get us free from the French. True story. So the devil said okay it's a deal, so the Haitians revolted and got themselves free. But ever since then they have been cursed by one thing after another.

It’s nice to know that the guy helping me out after my house fell on my family believes I deserved it all.

Own it (and fast), and move on to helping the Hatians, would be my advice to Robertson.

These people had nothing to do with some sort of Faustian deal. It’s like blaming white people today for what white people did to blacks a long time ago.

Maybe reparations isn’t such a bad idea after all? Let us pay our bill in advance in hopes of preventing God from allowing us to be crushed under our own houses, whaddya think?

Yes, I agree with what Pat said. Some good may result from this terrible tragedy. Let’s pray that that is the case.

Or would you prefer to just damn Haiti to hell and be done with it?

It’s time to lay the blame for this tragedy where it truly belongs . . .

John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

I believe the enemy of mankind (Satan) and the demonic realm are ultimately behind this terrible destruction in Haiti - not God.

When we (as individuals or a nation) turn away from Almighty God and the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible does list various negative consequences (Deuteronomy 28:15-68 for example). When God’s hand of protection is removed from a person’s life because of continued disobedience or rebellion, the enemy can come in like a flood and cause a host of problems. God does not cause these tragedies, but He will use them in this broken world to bring people back to Him - because He loves us and wants us back.

Is it fair that in this process innocent people are hurt? Of course not, but realize that this world is a fallen world, polluted by sin, and Satan and his demons don’t play fair. They are wicked, fallen spiritual beings that are bent on the destruction of the human race - in any way possible.

However, born-again Christians have nothing to fear from the demonic realm, as the Lord Jesus has given us power and authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). As a minister of the Gospel, I’ve prayed with and led hundreds of people in deliverance sessions (exorcisms) over the last 14 years - and demons ALWAYS flee in the name of Jesus.

So is God to blame for this Hatian tragedy? Of course not. God loves everyone and is very patient towards us, working to bring us to a place of repentance and faith in Him. Is the devil and the demonic realm to blame? Ultimately yes, to a certain degree.

What needs to be done? The people in Haiti need help now with physical needs - food, clothing, and shelter - love of God in action. Many also need help with spiritual needs - the life and freedom only experienced through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10).

Pat Robertson is “helping the Hatians,” and has been doing so for a long time.

He was simply identifying a primary cause of much of their misery: Satanic deception. Once the cause is identified, the solution is clear: Jesus.

Listen, Robertson and you are way out of line. God is not going to kill thousands of people or “damn Haiti to hell” because someone or allegedly made a “pact with satan” long ago.

Christians seem to pick the strangest battles.

The get stepped on constantly by the left/government and habitually turn the other cheek.

But when a Christian says something ridiculous and hurtful only THEN do they coil-up to defend and resist.

They will lose this one, guaranteed.

I will type this slowly so you can understand....in Robertsons eyes we are ALL sinners.....yes, even the Haitians. I would love to take you to my church.....the pastor would have you in the fetal position in 2 minutes. Ride your high horse elsewhere.

you still aren’t helping me out.

Am I supposed to get a grip on the concept of sin and punishment?

Am I supposed to get a grip on the fact that the Hatians are being punished for sin?

Which came first, plate tectonics or Haiti?

The “hand of protection” theory about God presupposes that bad things happen all the time due to the fall of Adam and Eve and only the hand of God can keep bad things from happening.

The other theory would be that God will actively cause something to happen like an Earthquake or whatever.

So I’m not really sure what your trying to say. But Pat Robertson bringing up some old “sold their soul to the devil” story from 200 years ago just seems like a silly thing to say with a straight face. If fact you would have to be blessed/cursed with a HUGE amount of self confidence or delusion to make a claim like that. Maybe he is right, maybe he is wrong dunno but I do know that Pat is wrong more than he is right, and I also know that we can keep that kind of speculation in the pulpit.

so I still don’t know what you want me to get a grip on.

Not Dude, Not Atheist. Not Agnostic. Do you want me to start posting stupid Pat quotes? Cause I will! I will have to pony up a donation for bandwidth on FR first though cause I don’t know if Jim has the room.

I can see also why you would foolishly defend Pat. You are accusing me of being an atheist without any information... Good job, you are illustrating my point about Pat better than I ever could.

Well, you have assumed I support Pat. I am not a Bible thumper, nor particularly religious....you are the one supporting Gibbs, not I.
