BOSTON -- Massachusetts' top election official says it could take weeks to certify the results of next week's Senate special election, a delay that could help President Barack Obama pass his health care bill if the Republican wins.
(snip)
Secretary of State William Galvin says state law gives cities and towns up to 15 days to certify their results.

It will take up to 15 days if a Republican wins. Otherwise, abut 10 minutes.

Are they suggesting that ReidCo would pull some shenanigans to get the thing passed without that vote?
I'm shocked!

Yup.
Naked political corruption and abuse of power.
For the “common good” of course.

Nope, not 2 days. Less than 24 hours.
Elected on 11/6/1962, so figure the result was in late that evening. Sworn in by LBJ on 11/7/1962.

Totally predictable. Don’t forget the recounts and challenges. Remember Minnesota. Republican wins and then loses.

Secretary of State William Galvin says state law gives cities and towns up to 15 days to certify their results. When have Democrats ever let something like the law get in the way of their political objectives? They will find that there is no penalty attached to this statute, and will delay in certifying. Eventually Brown will have to take them to court. I give it 3 months at least.

There should be a legal remedy for this. If past precendence has been not to do this; and they are clearly playing politics.
But he still has to win. In these traditional Dem areas, , a Republican needs at least a 5 point cushion. That is needed in my opinion, to overcome ACORN and union vote rigging and cheating.

2 of the 60 Democrat-Socialists in the Senate were selected-not-elected within the past year.
Al Franken never had a majority of votes. Activist judges tossed out legitimate votes for the Republican and manufactured new votes for Franken. The standard applied was not universal.
And Ted Kennedy’s replacement was appointed contrary to existing Massachusetts law. The law was “changed” so that the Rats could continue to steal seats in the Senate and ram through legislation that the public overwhelmingly opposes.
