It beggars the imagination. Pictures of piles of bodies are starting to emerge. The bodies are naked. It struck me that people must be stripping them of clothing for the value of the clothes.
They better get the help there ASAP...the best chance these people have is our armed forces with land-based and ship-based hospitals and supplies. In a few days, things will get much worse with rotting corpses and no sanitation infrastructure. Hell on Earth for these poor Haitians...it really is hard to watch the pics and video from there.
Scripture certainly has plenty on chastising such as:
II SAM 12:14, AMOS 4:6-12, I COR 11:30-32, DEUT 32:48-52
1. God may use the loss of loved ones. David lost newborn son. II Sam 12:14
2. God may use the loss of property and wealth. Amos 4:6-12
3. God may use the loss of health. I Cor 11:30
4. God may use death. Deut 32:48-52.
All of us are chastised by God when we worship false gods. It’s just that we don’t realize it. It is His way of bringing back His children.
I am sure it would steam people in Mississippi and Alabama.
Many times in the Bible God warned people of impending disaster. Many escaped because they listened. For example, God warned Pharaoh in the days of Joseph that a seven-year famine was coming. He believed and prepared and prospered as the surrounding areas brought their wealth to Egypt to buy food.
There are 3 kinds of suffering people go through: some we bring on ourselves for doing evil, some is common to everyone because no one is trouble free, and sometimes people suffer for doing what is right.
It is wise to evaluate the cause of a problem in order to know how to remedy it.
I personally do not think God divinely intervened and sent this disaster. But it is reasonable to look at what things might be like if the instructions God has given us were followed.
When you have theft, murder, corruption, deceit, occultism, etc. it will make a person, community or nation ill prepared for hard times. It may even bring hard times when they would not ordinarily happen.
“How many years has the UN been helping Haiti?”
Good question. Every time Haiti comes up in the news I wonder how many billions of dollars have disappeared into that kleptocracy, and why we don’t learn from it.
100 iMacs which will probably be stolen plus how many Haitians even have electricity.
Haiti will always be the worst basket case in the world just before Somalia.
How about seeds, hoes and rakes? Oh the place is overpopulated and the soil is destroyed and farming takes a little work. Easier to cry for handouts and play the victim plus have 5 more kids.
This is going to be bad, and the fact that it happened to a bunch of Haitians shouldn't make a difference in terms of the help and support they receive from the USA.
These people haven't been supporting terrorism or shooting up US troops like the Somalis, and they are hard working.
The loss of human life is tragic and sad. However, hasn’t the USA taxpayer given those kleptocrats enough Billions over the years that they could access their Swiss bank accounts and help out their own people? The USA never seems to learn that giving money such countries doesn’t change their culture.
That’s a noble pursuit. I hope when the time came there wasn’t a ton of bureaucracy in his way.
Guess you never shopped at stores where they work in the USA. Or saw the women in Staples with expensive dresses, Coach handbags making copies for Medicaid.
I am a bot more sympathetic for American working class people who scrimp and save to get their prescriptions while Haitians get it all free at CVS and Walgreeen plus no generics for them.
Send them some aid, try to help, keep them there and try to help Americans who are unemployed. Haiti has been a nightmarish disaster for hundreds of years.
Looks like rubble.
Not sure of time relative to quake of this Google Sat shot:
HIDEOUS TO HAMAS.
GRRR
I’m still an advocate of World Vision.
However, I’ve seen at close range some taint from UN sorts of . . . mentalities seeping into their efforts.
I support more strongly Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse
and Christian Broadcasting Network’s
OPERATIONS BLESSING—100% of donations of which go to the need. 100%
Thanks to those who recommended Samaritans Purse.
CERTAINLY. They have my wholehearted respect and support.
I hesitate to assert this as I don’t have the references handy at all . . . nor even remember where they might be . . .
however . . .
I’ve come across 3-4 convincing ref’s asserting that the Red Cross has been implicated in several cases of globalist skull duggary.
I will no longer donate to them.
With Franklin Graham’s Smaritan’s Purse
and Operation Blessing of CBN
Conservatives have no need to donate to even questionable globalist organizations, imho.
