I'm calling it right now.....Harry Reid will not run for re-election
The Vanity Street Journal | January 12, 2009 | Me

Posted on 01/12/2010 7:03:31 PM PST by St. Louis Conservative

Harry Reid will not run for re-election. You heard it here first. He's gonna ram healthcare through (or at least give it his best college try) and then he'll opt not to run to "spend more time with family" or some other 100% bogus, phoney excuse. Once his political usefulness has been used up by Obama, Axelrod, and Emanuel, they'll pull a Dodd and tell him to step down "for the good of the party". Since his poll numbers are upside down in Nevada, and even lefty pundits on MSNBC are admitting he's toast, Reid may see retiring as a more graceful exit than losing in a landslide.

Reid will drop out sometime in April. You heard it here first.

Place your bets, FRiends!

You’re not the first to make that prediction, though.

He has the better part of a year to smooth this over, don’t count him out.

Actually, John Fund beat you to the punch.

I believe you are both correct, though.

Now now. He’s probably been promised a Czarship. Lots of clout and no icky elections to deal with.

Yeah, I know. John Fund wrote about the same thing today. I just want people to not assume that we will have an easy race against a dead-man-walking in Harry Reid. The Democrats aren’t stupid (when it comes to politics). Axelrod, Emanuel, Obama, et al are hellbent on keeping every last Democrat seat, and they’re sure as hell not going to let their majority leader lose and embarrass their party and endanger his radical socialist agenda.

So what. He’ll hand-pick some other lefty clone-he-will-own to run in his stead.

On the other hand, he could always pick a “light-skinned Negro.” That’d be interesting.

I made the prediction even before his latest gaffe. And I bet I’m not the only one. He’s hanging in there because he doesn’t want to be a lame duck. A majority leader who feels compelled to retire because of his bad polls isn’t much use. He’s gotta go down like Daschle and Foley. I’m hoping he takes Pelosi with him. Pelosi of course will be re-elected, but if the GOP retakes the House, she’ll be nothing but an ugly memory.

Do you think that Democrats will have the nerve to run his son Rory to succeed him?

I figured this today when the media not only let this go another day, but actually seemed to ratchet up the coverage.

They’re wanting to purge the Party of all the “faces” that are getting the negative press and the disturbing re-election poll numbers.

And they need to do it before we get any closer to November.

Even if Reid drops out, we can smear his replacement as a Reid clone, who’s a racist, who used the “N” word, who sat next to Harry at the local KKK meeting, who hates apple pie and who can’t sing “America the Beautiful” because he hates America.

No. Wrong! I want him defeated. I don’t want him to be allowed to resign and the Democrats field a stronger candidate. I despise Harry Reid.

I hear Rory has a lot of dirt in his background just as his father does.

Nevadans will also probably have the better part of a year to get to know the health care he is jamming down their throats.
