+ 1 on the Mk II. Every American should own a Mk II and an 1911.

My dad bought the XD for me in 9mm last year when a local gun and ammo store had them on sale at a ridiculously low price. The special price was only for the 9mm model and not available for the 40 cal - which would otherwise have been my preference. Since my dad was buying it, I was more than happy to accept the 9mm. My son has a Ruger 40 cal that he really likes, and shoots very well. But a couple of months ago when we were at a shooting range, he shot my XD and was VERY impressed with how easy it was to control and how well it shoots.

No glock? A single revolver? Utter stupidity.

My son in law showed me his Grampa’s Hi-Standard 22 semi-auto that he bought for $68 way back when. The receipt from a Ore hardware store was in the bottom of the box. I remember shooting my BiL’s back in the 50s. Did I tell you I want one...

I have a Springfield 1911 and and XD .45. Both are great guns but the 1911 has my heart for two reasons; it has a history unparalleled in serving our military during several wars, and most importantly my 1911 was a gift from my youngest son, an Army Ranger. I have a concealed carry permit and it goes everywhere with me. BTW, it makes me more conscious of my responsibilities and temperment than when I don’t carry. In my case having a gun makes me more tolerant. The libtards would never understand.

Wow. I have over ten handguns, and not a single one on the list.

I might get a 1911 this year, or I might be odd and get an S&W 945 instead. Don’t care about being on a list.

I’ts not likeley that this is a top sales list, with the inclusion of two different SiG lines and no Glocks. Also, I don’t think the Single Six is Ruger’s best seller.

Smith and Wesson is off the $#!+ list for its capitulation and collaboration with the clinton administration on anti-gun regulations now, I guess. Did the british company that had bought them divest?

This list looks like it was made by someone who’s expertise consists of having read every Guns& Ammo printed since 2007.

have you thrown it down in the mud and tried to fire it yet? That is my big test, and I am wondering if anyone has done this....I have very fat fingers, and most small sidearms have way to small a trigger guard / trigger area for me to safely pull and aim without an accidental discharge...the area in the XD sub is perfect...

What, no H&K???

Some will say, "too expensive" but but isn't a bit more worth it, if this weapon is meant to save your life?

Did the british company that had bought them divest?

A goodly time back, and at a substantial financial loss.

Interesting that the Single Six is the only wheelgun on the list. I would have expected to see at least one Glock too.

I can’t believe you put the Browning buckmark in there over the Ruger Mark II or Mark III. A travesty!!!

Got a Springfield Armory XDm 9mm for Christmas. Took it to the NRA range in Virginia a couple of weeks ago and was shooting bullseyes with ease from 25 feet. Just a fantastic firearm. My only complaint is that it comes with a right-handed holster and I shoot left-handed. Oh well.

Is there that much of a difference between a Python and a Trooper Mark III?

This seems to be nothing more than some Joe Blows list of favorites. No rhyme or reason to it. Its meaningless.
