I don’t think there is any chance of recovery now. too many things falling apart.

My opinion of the American people has fallen much faster than this poll. One thing I’ve learned, if you keep politics out of the MSM, the American people are content.

Screw the people with a healthcare plan no one wants, it’s ok, just keep it out of the news. If it gets the lead in the news, people get upset.

I think he's bouncing along on a plateau for now so long as he can benefit from trite distractions like this deal with Reid.

Each month's job numbers are going to have their effect though.

Right now the one thing that will help our cause is for Scott Brown to get elected to the Senate in the swimmer's former seat. That will blow some minds.

Agree. Bammy’s most recent trial balloon, a fee on successful banks to fund failing banks, has gone over like a lead balloon. I guess he never studied economics at Harvard. No one is making any long term investments as long as the Kenyan Kid can show up tomorrow and blow away their business plan with his socialistic six shooter. Best to wait until 2010 when the townsfolk can get a new sheriff. All of this is very reminescent of Blazing Saddles...or Night of the Living Dead.

Rasmussen has a good analysis of Brown's prospects. See:

It might blow some minds, but Rasmussen doesn’t think it will happen. Read his remarks on this race at the link.

I think the state of the union will initially bump him up...then cause a further fall. He’ll get face time, with no questions...which he thrives in. But, the address will be full of untruths that will get picked apart in the days following. I also can’t wait to see the 54 inch flatscreen TOTUS in the back of the chamber.

The 10 day moving average Presidential Approval/Disapproval is showing a strong shoulder-head-shoulder. That could mean in a month much lower approvals. 10 points down, that’d be a -25 point Tracking.

I have the utmost respect for Rasmussen, however there is a growing undercurrent of voter anger that will be tough to measure. This may not be a good time to be a pollster.

The CBS results have Obama at 46% approval polling “Americans.” It’s quite possible that Rasmussen is being a little conservative with his party affiliation mix, and hasn’t adjusted adequately for the dissatisfaction. If I had to guess, I’d say that the approval rating is around 43-44% in actuality.

I don’t think Coakley’s performance, in the debate, last night helped her one bit.

There is one more week to go and Scott scored some big bucks yesterday. Consider that a month ago Brown was virtually unknown.

Absolutley. He’s one of a a handful of Republicans here and represents a suburban district. He also hasn’t been on the radar for being corrupt.
