Harry Reid adds that only light-skinned African-Americans are electable in the U.S.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid apologized (who cares, noting that Don Imus lost his job for similar commentary about Black people) for saying the following about Barack Obama: "[Reid] made dozens of calls to apologize for telling authors of Game Change that Barack Obama had a good chance to become the nation's first black president because he was light-skinned and spoke with no Negro dialect unless he wanted to have one.."'
Here is what Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said in plain English: African-Americans are not electable unless they are light-skinned like Barack Obama or, to use the language of the OLD Old South, a mulatto, quadroon, or octoroon. Then he added in effect that Barack Obama talks with a Negro accent (Reid's apparent assumption being that all African-Americans jive in Ebonics no matter how well educated they might be) when it is convenient for him to do so, but that he otherwise "talks like a white person." This is the same Senate Majority Leader who wants to control our health care and a good part of the rest of our economy.

TOPICS: Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: blackpresident; negro; negrodialect; obama; reid
Addendum: the prominent racist and anti-Semite Al Sharpton (see Freddy's Fashion Mart) just
whitewashed Harry Reid the way the National "Jewish" "Democratic" Council whitewashed MoveOn.org's Action Forum.
"To say that what [Reid] said is anywhere near comparable ... to what Trent Lott said is insulting to the intelligence of the American people," Sharpton told Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy. "Trent Lott commended a Dixiecrat for running for office who left the Democratic Party to fight integration. How do you compare Trent Lott saying that 'I wish ... we could have those days where blacks are in the back of the bus' ... to saying why a black could be elected president? Now he said it in an insensitive way, but he's electing a black president, compared to this guy saying 'I wish this guy had won that would have kept blacks in segregation.'"
Which is an outright lie like most of what Al Sharpton says because Trent Lott did not praise Strom Thurmond's support of segregation, and in fact had probably forgotten it because Thurmond himself had repudiated this position.

Oh, so Harry is okay with black people, as long as they perpetuate the Stepin Fetchit stereotype. Got it.
And they call Republicans racist.

does it occur to anyone that this book was timed to drop? perhaps to influence a health care bill??????
and why is there nothing in this book about Obama comparable to that of Reid, Clinton, Edwards, et al, other than Obama staffers called him ‘black Jesus’ and that he seemed to be magically above it all, having to be ‘encouraged’ to run in the first place?????

So the upcoming census form is racist?
To: Winged Hussar
Trent was kidding the old codger. Ole Strom was LITERALLY not the same man physically or otherwise that he had been fifty years before. Who is? Hell, the same is true of Bobby Byrd. Reid’s problem—and Byrd’s—is that the old words keep slipping out, although now defanged, because their feelings have changed.

Most lib pols are skilled at talking out of both sides of their mouths. The ones that rise the highest talk out of another orifice.

Just saying it’s odd for a politician to still use the word Negro in everyday language.

It sure was funny when Axel Foley (Eddie Murphey) made fun of the black Beverly Hills cop for "talking white." /s
"He put a banana up your tailpipe."
(The actual scene came later.)
