Sarah Palin, who regularly rips the media, is becoming a television pundit at a place where she's likely to feel at home.
A Fox News executive says the network will shortly announce that the former vice-presidential nominee is signing on as a contributor.
Palin, who resigned as governor of Alaska last summer, will appear as a commentator on various Fox shows. She will also host an occasional program that will examine inspirational tales involving ordinary Americans.
Palin will join Mike Huckabee as a Fox contributor who was also involved in the 2008 campaign. The exposure can only help Palin if she decides to pursue a 2012 presidential bid.
At the moment, Palin makes pronouncements mainly through her Facebook page. The Fox connection would give her a platform on the nation's top-rated cable news channel.
Palin is extremely popular with her conservative base, which has fueled the sales of her best-selling memoir. But she is a divisive political figure who not only draws the ire of liberals but some Republicans, including staffers who deal with her during her run as John McCain's running mate. Steve Schmidt, a top McCain strategist, said on "60 Minutes" last night that "there were numerous instances that she said things that were -- that were not accurate that ultimately, the campaign had to deal with."

Maybe she doesnt intend to run in 2012 and is just looking for a good paying job. Ever think of that ?
Yes..., very true... we all gotta pay bills... :-)
Her odds of running went from 25% to 0% with this, imo. It’s over. I hope the Republicans can find someone else. I don’t think she’d likely have beat hussein, but at this point I don’t see anyone that can.
Support candidates she likes.
Well.....
I Agree, There is nothing bad about this at all.....if FReepers would actually read the articles in the NYT and WaPo, she is getting TV face time with regular “Specials” and occasional commentary, face book only goes so far.....She just said that she is still campaigning for “conservatives” this year, and is giving the speech at SLC in New Orleans in April which most pundits say means that she is considering running!....SHEESHS!
The former Alaska governor is joining Fox News as a contributor, an executive at the cable news network said today, confirming news first reported by the New York Times. Palin will appear as a commentator on programs across the network, joining a lineup of pundits that includes fellow conservatives Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee. She will also help host a recurring series that profiles everyday Americans.

Ok this story is TRUE! Greta just confirmed it
It depends on what kind of show she appears on. One report has her doing a show highlighting ordinary Americans doing extraordinary things, with a format like Olie North’s “War Stories” A show like this could be very very good.
“I am NOT a Huck fan but he does have an easy voice.”
I would think he was a great minister.
I think it’ll actually be good for her cause. If she has aspirations of a Presidential run, some regular exposure will soften the (wrongful, yet nonetheless there) “bogeyman” image some have of her. She’ll do fine.
Sarah knew what she was doing and a few months later and the best selling book of 2009 changed almost every ones mind, even of those who despise her. I'm sure if she is going to show up on Fox more and more, I'm not going to be the one to second guess her.
I dont like this idea
Stay in Politics please Sarah!!!
but she has a history of making better decisions than me - so I wish her luck
Who are we to second guess Sarah Palin? She has already pulled off what they said could not be done. Looking back at the post here on FR when she stepped down as Governor, the majority right here thought it was a stupid move and that her career in politics was over.

Agreed, some here act like they are experts in everything
Yes, I had seen the Fox News confirmation, so I believe it.
I was merely saying that the WaPo’s (or NYTimes’) reporting it meant absolutely nothing.
Regardless of the fact that I like her better than most other nationally prominent politicians, and that I like FoxNews better than most of the rest of the media, I think it is unhealthy to have a revolving door between journalism and politics. Palin would be better off burnishing her policy credentials than courting greater celebrity, and Fox would be better off finding more Britt Hume’s and John Stossel’s and fewer Mike Huckabees.
And oddly, most of them have nothing on their “about” page here at FR. I always have wondered about that.

TYPICAL carping leftists, hoping ONCE AGAIN, the GOP will eat its own.
NOT THIS TIME.
She has too much support - among GOP AND Tea Party People.
