Palin signs on with Fox News
Washington Post ^ | January 11, 2010 | Howard Kurtz

Sarah Palin, who regularly rips the media, is becoming a television pundit at a place where she's likely to feel at home.

A Fox News executive says the network will shortly announce that the former vice-presidential nominee is signing on as a contributor.

Palin, who resigned as governor of Alaska last summer, will appear as a commentator on various Fox shows. She will also host an occasional program that will examine inspirational tales involving ordinary Americans.

Palin will join Mike Huckabee as a Fox contributor who was also involved in the 2008 campaign. The exposure can only help Palin if she decides to pursue a 2012 presidential bid.

At the moment, Palin makes pronouncements mainly through her Facebook page. The Fox connection would give her a platform on the nation's top-rated cable news channel.

Palin is extremely popular with her conservative base, which has fueled the sales of her best-selling memoir. But she is a divisive political figure who not only draws the ire of liberals but some Republicans, including staffers who deal with her during her run as John McCain's running mate. Steve Schmidt, a top McCain strategist, said on "60 Minutes" last night that "there were numerous instances that she said things that were -- that were not accurate that ultimately, the campaign had to deal with."

Hmmmm, I think she should stay with politics. No one thinks Oprah would be a good President. I just fell she would be diluting herself. Looking forward to seeing her, though.

“The exposure can only help Palin if she decides to pursue a 2012 presidential bid.”

I think the opposite is true. Don’t do it Sarah.

I don’t believe it yet, if the source is WaPo. ;)

I hope this isn’t true. I don’t think it’s a good move at all. She looks better by staying above the fray, and constant exposure on Fox News (and the very fact that it IS Fox News) will give the rest of the media endless fodder for their relentless attacks.

She is gonna run. You can take that to the bank. This is her way of spreading her message, going after Obama on live TV. this is gonna be AWESOME!! She won’t be having her own show like Huck, she will be doing political commentating. This is great news. Obama’s war with Fox News is officially back on

Maybe she doesn’t intend to run in 2012 and is just looking for a good paying job. Ever think of that ?

I know we all like her, but why put up with all that crap the Media likes to throw, when she can settle down to a good paying job where she doesnt have to take any crap.

I wish her luck whatever she is trying to do, and if this doesnt help her with her run for President ,it will pay the bills, and she can wait a couple of years and make a decision.

Hope you are right. We will see. Right now Im seeing this as “of course she is going to Fox” I find her to be independent although extremely conservative. Fox is not perceived independent, Sadly.

I am huge Palin fan, but I hope she doesn’t do this. Stick to politics, there’s more than enough work to do there.

I am listening to Tammy Bruce right now. She says this can go either way. It just depends on what context she will be on. If she is on once a week doing political commentating on the week’s events, that is a wonderful thing and can work quite well. If she is going the Newt Gingrich route where he is on TV everyday running his mouth, then it could go wrong, she could say something controversial that could get her into trouble. She could have her own half hour commentary discussing the weeks events which could work perfectly. We just have to wait and see what happens

I love Sarah, but I think she should take voice lessons.
But if she did, the dimwits would have a cow.

I am NOT a Huck fan but he does have an easy voice.
