If you are on anyone's mass e-mail list, by now you've probably heard of Harold B. Estes. For those of you who delete anything not work-related before reading, Estes is a very sharp-witted, conservative WWII vet in his mid-90s who wrote a strong letter of criticism to President Obama, virally distributed by e-mail in November.
His opening shot: "...I am amazed, angry, and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish. I can't figure out what country you are the president of. You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies..."
When I read it, the letter reminded me very much of my Grandmother. She, too, is in her 90s. She, too, is a WWII "vet" - having survived Auschwitz in her 20s.

..As expected I was quite concerned about the future of our nation & Obama's expected win...
..an elderly lady was sitting next to me and we started talking.
She is a refuge from Castro's Cuba...
...and was terrified, absolutely terrified, of what America was doing by electing Obama.
She (correctly, as we all know now) identified him as closely aligned with the policies of Castro, Chavez, etc......and couldn't believe she would have to live through the nightmare again....here in America.

I’ve heard the same concerns from Russians who worked very hard to get here and escape socialism in the USSR.
Honestly, how could ANY survivor of the Holocaust even think BO is on their side?? Even a casual observer will see he is NO FRIEND of the Jewish people.
The comments on that article sum up the compassion and empathy Obama’s supporters do not have for grandma’s suffering and fear of Obama’s ideology.
I can not believe so many Americans have bought into the “victim” Pali non-sense; totally ignoring the decades of murder and naming Israel’s response to survive as “genocide.” According to these kooks Israel should just happily die because the Jewish people don’t belong there.
We are living in strange times. What is good is named evil and what is evil is named good.

Russian Jews are among the most Conservative Jews I know. There is nothing like a close and personal encounter with tyranny to make you recognize and despise the left.
Not just Russians. Most Jews who came or whose parents came after 1945 are Republicans. We hate communism and FDR.
Russian immigrants cut my hair. One of them was very indignant that Obama could become president. She said, “We’ve seen his kind before. We came here to get away from them.” She predicted a mortal fate would befall him before the usual 3 score and ten.
