ORLANDO, Fla. -- Central Florida saw a very unique winter weather mix Saturday, the likes of we may not see again for a generation. People all across Central Florida woke up to sleet and snow Saturday morning and the freezing temps were back Sunday morning, this time without the sleet and snow.
If you are on the roads this weekend, watch out for a few slick spots around the area, especially for bridges and overpasses, after temperatures dropped back below 32 Saturday night. If you saw rain Saturday, it wont dry out overnight and ice could remain Sunday.
Thousands of bundled up runners showed up to run in Disneys half marathon early Saturday morning, but the cold temperatures didnt seem to bother most.
Eyewitness News received viewer reports, as well as photos on WFTV.com (take a look), of snow and sleet falling in cities such as Silver Springs, Ocklawaha, Fruitland Park, Ormond Beach, Zephyrhills, Lady Lake, Palm Coast and The Villages.
Another famous character was Joe Btfsplk, who wanted to be a loving friend but was "the world's worst jinx," bringing bad luck to all those nearby. Btfsplk (his name was "pronounced" by simply blowing a "raspberry" or Bronx cheer) always had an iconic dark cloud over his head.
Algore’s gonna get himself a nickname if he’s not careful. Ice, Ice, Albaby for AGW. Because AGW really is Al Gore Weathergate.
Snow in Dade and Broward!? Search is on for proof
South Florida’s miserable weather — including unconfirmed reports of snow or ice pellets in Oakland Park and Kendall on Saturday — is testing humans and beasts alike.
Saturday may have been the worst of it. There were snow flurries spotted in several parts of the state, including at the Walt Disney World Half Marathon. In South Florida, temperatures were expected to fall just below freezing overnight before creeping into the low 50s on Sunday.
“the likes of we may not see again for a generation”
Oh..I really don’t think its over..even this year. Still got February to contend with. The Sun is still very quiet, currently only one Sunspot, and is expected to stay that way.
If the trend continues as it has over the last 2 years we are in for some VERY cold weather.

LOL...try selling Global Warming to the folks now. It was already a joke, but this is going to make it even worse.
Even last year, my friends in Canada (Sask, where it really gets cold) were making jokes about it.

24 @ 5:30 in Brandon, FL when I took the dog out this morning. It was 27 yesterday. We’ve had cold mornings like this before, but it has been colder than average for quite sometime.
Was ALGORE in TOWN? Sleet, Snow Fall In Parts Of Central Florida
I believe Al Gore has sooooo much power that he doesn't actually have to be in a city to cause a mini Ice Age. He just thinks of one and it hits. Yesterday at this time it was -7oF, the low was -10oF and now its a 'balmy' 14oF.
So I believe he was thinking 'Chicago Area' over that 'Emanuel vs Daley for mayor' rumor and we got hit with sub zero temps.
Don’t all you knuckle-dragging, ignorant dolts know that extremely cold weather is a solid, certain, the-science-is-settled indication that global warming is at work? Hmmmmm?
/S/
IMHO
Hey now! 32F in Orlando beats 15F here in Salt Lake City.
BTW, on December 30, 2009 a group of environmentalist wacko students from the University of Utah, about 12 in number, did a demonstration downtown to protest man made Global Warming. The demonstration was cancelled after about half an hour due to a blizzard. God has a sense of humor.
