It was the thinnest of reeds, but that didn't stop George Stephanopoulos from clinging to ittwicein doing his best for Harry Reid . . .
Appearing on GMA today, Steph stressed that Reid's remarks about then-candidate Obama being "light-skinned" and having no "negro dialect" were supposed to be "private."
Stephanopoulos tried to put the best face on things during a conversation with weekend co-host Kate Snow.

[Clinton said,] "A few years ago this guy would have been getting us coffee." I dislike Clinton as much anyone who's ever lived, but I don't contrue these comments as racists, but a valid observation about his experience.

"Time for Harry to resign ~ by Noon today if at all possible."
This is all cover to either give Harry cover to explain why he will soon announce he won't be running for re-election or it will be used to explain the 'unexpected' defeat of the Majority Leader of the party which is doing its best to save America.

And when people asked Biden about saying, of Obama, I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American presidential candidate who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, thats a storybook, man, Biden claimed his words were, of course, “taken out out context”.

Sometimes you get reminded that although Kaine has the accents and intonations of your typical Midwestern news announcer he's from Ol'Virginny.
Yup, he's gonna' be supportive of Reid because he really doesn't hear the problem ~ which is really, really bad!

Why would Harry Reed call Obama to apologize if the remarks weren’t offensive?

That was my first take on Bill’s comment.
Seniority and party rank.

Stephanopoulos was quick to correct Obama when he mentioned “My Muslim religion” by quickly saying, “your Christian Religion.” Obama quickly repeated My Christian religion.

Oh man- doesn’t George understand that makes it even WORSE? This is how he thinks and speaks in private revealing his true beliefs...
Stephie just made Reid look like a real bigot.
Maybe that was the intent?

But Reeds comments were in the context of whether America was ready to elect a black man President, yes if he were light-skinned rather than dark skinned, and didnt speak in Negro dialect except when he wanted to.
Meaning that if Obama had looked like Jesse Jackson and sounded like Al Sharpton there is no way he ever would have won the nomination.

Clinton was wrong ~ Obama was busy making his street cred within the time frame specified by Billzo.
It wasn't about getting white folks coffee or hustling prostitutes to service them.
The statement tells you more about Billzo's ignorance than about Obama.

[Clinton said,] "A few years ago this guy would have been getting us coffee." If he had been speaking about Jesse, the coffee would have been weak, due to the high spit content.

“and didnt speak in Negro dialect except when he wanted to.”
That could describe Hillary too.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
That would make him a bitter clinger.

Years ago, there was a Republican Governor of AZ who while on a camping trip was quoted as making a derogatory comment comparing fog to rape. The media went crazy. He wasn't reelected.

Trent Lott didn't say anything racist, just not PC. Strom was a racist who changed his ways, along the same lines as Sheets Byrd.
Harry Reid is just an unbelievably ignorant asshat. No surprise here!

I didn’t say they weren’t offensive, I said that I didn’t find them offensive. I did say they were insensitive, insensitive particularly to those tender hearts who are easily offended and find just about everything offensive.
If a Republican had said the same things he would be hounded by the race-industry-media complex.
Liberals and the media treat blacks like a fragile old maiden aunt who waxes hystrical if any white person or Republican even mentions anything with the faintest association with sex, but substitute race for sex.
To: alice_in_bubbaland
Agreed, we all know the hypocratic way it was handled. I was just being sarcastic about Georgie’s lame excuse.
