Harry Reid’s egregiously inappropriate comment from the 2008 campaign that Obama is ”a light-skinned” African-American who “lacked a Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one” is causing quite a stir. But let’s be clear: had any Republican said it, he or she would be chased from office by Monday. But Harry Reid is no Trent Lott and the standards are different for Democrats. (John McCormack points out that even Obama had a different standard in 2002.) In this case, Obama is trying to snuff out the controversy, declaring:
"Harry Reid called me today and apologized for an unfortunate comment reported today. I accepted Harry’s apology without question because I’ve known him for years, I’ve seen the passionate leadership he’s shown on issues of social justice and I know what’s in his heart. As far as I am concerned, the book is closed."

Because Democrats by definition are not racists so they have absolute immunity from any lapses in political correct speech.
Witness the absolution give to former Ku Klux Klan leader Robert Byrd for his “white nigger” remark.
(Conservatives even have a fear of repeating what the Dems say lest we be labeled racists. As I wrote the above I actually wondered if the FR mods will ban or limit me for simply quoting a racial remark from a Democrat.)
It’s more than a political double standard among the elite intellegentsia who control the media propaganda machine, it’s simply their religious conviction that the left can do no wrong.

What Obama meant: “...he apologized for a comment unfortunately reported today...”.
Doesn’t matter to Obama one bit that Ried is a nasty old elite minded overcompensating closet racist. He will use him to take down the country and take everyones freedom. Most of his agenda never was about race in the first place. Commies are just like that....they are users.
Actually I just heard on TV that not one Democratic Senator called for Trent Lott’s expulsion. Is that true. I tried to remember back years ago and can’t think of any Democrats doing that but can’t fully remember. I know that the Republicans threw him under the bus that is for sure.

To the typical lib, the labels on Johnnie Walker Scotch carry racial overtones.
He is an old Charley Whitebread from a practically all white region (in his day when he actually lived there, anyway) and a religion which has few non-white members in that part of the country.
He doesn’t understand black or black culture at all, he just feigns “sensitivity” by pushing big-spending, liberal legislation that is supposed to help minorities but only serves to make them more dependent on government and the Dems.
You also have to have a moral compass to understand the concept of "content of character". If you can't "see" or understand a persons character, when you look at them...all you will see is an flat image made up of various color pixels and you will make your judgment accordingly.
Harry and many amoral Dems/commies..see people in color only and how they can best use them to their advantage.
With a dem - one person in the person's party "gives" forgiveness.

Reid “smells the smell” of vindication. Obama gives Reid a presidential pardon for racist attack and for acting stupidly. Al Sharpton turns a deaf ear. When questioned about the racist attack the government run media gave the following quote, “Problem? What problem?”
While blinking incessantly, Nancy Pelosi denied hearing any racist remark from Harry Reid saying, “It just didn’t happen”.
The Kenyan communist Ubama needs Reid until he gets his “health care justice” and the rest of his backdoor reparations taken care of. No way he throws that fossilized scumbag under the bus until he’s done with him.
It's not really an insult to Obama, but an insult to dark-skinned black men. Reid is saying Obama is one of their own.
He implies dark-skinned black men are not as good as their light-skinned counterpart.
I attended a small college. There were three girls graduating with a major in chemistry. One was a dark skinned black girl. She went home to meet her boyfriend's family. She heard later from her boyfriend that his mother and grandmother didn't approve because she was too dark for them and they wanted him to find a lighter skinned girlfriend. I've never forgotten that. His family would have been lucky to have her.
