Obama is ”a light-skinned” African-American who “lacked a Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one” is causing quite a stir.

Would someone (seriously) explain why this is supposed to be an insult? I honestly don't understand a lot of the things that are considered racist.

Because he is not focusing on the content of his character, he is focusing on his accent and where he lines up on the color chart. It's racist, not to mention shallow.
