For a party that should be coasting to victory in a Senate election they never lose, the Democrats seems mighty worried about the prospects of the hand-picked replacement for Ted Kennedy. A few weeks ago, no one would have thought for a moment that Republican Scott Brown would come within 20 points of Martha Coakley, the Kennedy family-approved heir to the Liberal Lions seat in the US Senate. Yesterday, Democrats got so rattled that they began speaking openly of keeping Brown out of the Senate for as long as they could once he wins:

I know, this is Joseph Lewis Rodriguez who on his own bio, is an admitted life-long Dem/Independent. He isn’t much different than the real Kennedy’s, just leans a little to the Libertarian side but is still a code pinko/pro choice lib.
I am very afraid you are quite right. However, I find that statement re: refusing to seat a duly elected Senator quite disturbing(*). Dems, are you listening to yourselves?
I certainly hope the MA voters are listening.

I agree. It is a pity. Drove there in the summer from NY. What a difference. Says a lot about NY. Still, there is potential in Massachusetts, if we get a good leader in there to clean house.
I am very careful I don't give away my conservative leanings because the atmosphere in a group is exactly as if there is an elephant in the room.
I have such a hard time with the Liberals in the North East, it's as if they are brain dead. My grandson, who is 17, can not believe there are actually people who have a difference of opinion. I'm starting to notice a little dent in his thinking, however. My side of the family, his teenage cousins are Conservative. Good influence.
If Martha loses, Vicki Reggie Kennedy is going to be really upset.
