Has Lou Dobbs changed his tune?
Video from tFox News ^ | 1/7/09 | Lou Dobbs on O'Reilly

Posted on 01/08/2010 3:55:23 PM PST by lonewacko_dot_com

According to this, Lou Dobbs said the following on last night's O'Reilly show:

DOBBS: I think the essence of the legislation of 2007 is right: pay a fine, learn English, commit to assimilation in the United States, and begin a path to citizenship…there should also be another guest worker program. [...]

O’REILLY: You sound very moderate. As you said, “I’m the tougher guy here.” Why do you think Hispanics come after you so hard?

DOBBS: I think in part — one thing is my own stupidity. I put forward a statement: rational, effective, humane policy…the emphasis became in the debate of my combative nature the issue of border security first and foremost, versus reforming immigration policy. I’m saying the same thing, but I’m keeping it absolutely combined.

O’REILLY: So you’re a kinder, gentler Lou Dobbs.

DOBBS: I’m a wiser Lou Dobbs.

I haven't watched it yet and I wonder what they left out of the transcript. Is there anything on the video that indicates that Dobbs isn't basically McCain? If anyone can provide a full transcript that would be appreciated.

I watched this and cannot recall the entire discussion, but O’
Reilly said he was now tougher on immigration than Dobbs!

Somebody got to him, or busted him doing something wrong.

Someone must have made a threat to his family or something. Dobbs was one of the strongest voices out there against illegal immigration, now he is for it. Very strange

I was disappointed when I heard this....and then realized...just like so many people who decide to run for office they change their tune. I think for one he may have gotten scared off for sticking to his strict beliefs......or indeed he has just become one of those who is going to court all these illegals knowing that soon there will be amnesty and they will be voters. I’m about ready to give up finding someone to support as they sooner or later seem to cave in to what they perceive to be the only way to win....where are those who will stick to their beliefs no matter what? I’m too old and can’t wait forever!!! :-)

I don’t know.

I saw the interview and it left me a little confused. Lou was always “close the border first” and I’m not sure if that’s his goal now. Rumors say he’s considering a run for the US Senate in NJ, so that might explain a lot, right?

Yep, if rumors are true, he’s thinking about running for US Senator in NJ.

Shots were fired at his house, in an upscale New Jerey suburb.

The shots were high and just missed his wife and chauffeur.

It was a message...probably from La Raza.

If what has happened to Glenn Beck is deliberate, then Dobbs knows "someone" wants them to shut up. The truth hurts.

Today, Judge Napolitano said that due to Obama's interruption of Beck's show, yesterday, they were replaying it today - I think he said "in it's entirity." haha Well, I don't think it was DISH that froze the tape after Beck had only been speaking a couple of minutes. But, DISH did have to search through satellites. When we began receiving again, it wasn't Beck - Napalitano gave a stirring, speedy account of the key points Beck would have cited.

I was recording and let continue through the disruptions. I'll look at again tonight - I hope it's still there.

I have to believe Obama & Co. planned his all-important speech to knock Beck off (sorry for the choice of words), simply because he did not take advantage of the moment on the day after Christmas. Even Bill Clinton was on t.v. almost immediately after the OKC bombing. Of course, the fact that only CNN carried his speech the day before, he surely knew media did not find what he had to say important. He was on t.v. every day after that.

No direct connection to the amnesty issue, but I haven’t trusted Lou Dobbs since he came out early and often for Mitt Romney back in the last primary campaign. He shilled for him non-stop for months.

On Thursday, Beck was talking about Saul Alinsky when the picture froze. Five minutes.

Today, Judge Napolitano had 41 minutes (including commercials), speaking on a variety of subjects. Towards the end, he seemed to speed up - talking about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - God-given rights.

HOMELAND INSECURITY
Why does Fox News promote terror-tied, FBI-shunned group?
Bankrolled by same wealthy Saudi prince, CAIR now regular guest on cable leader

2010 WorldNetDaily

Long a reliably patriotic media source in the war on terror, Fox News may now be among news outlets who have fallen under the spell of the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ propaganda machine.

“We own the media,” CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper privately brags, according to a source currently working inside the aggressive Islamist lobby group.

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly last week invited the TV-savvy Hooper on his show to debate passenger profiling, the second guest appearance by the CAIR spokesman in a month. At the end of the segment, O’Reilly thanked Hooper and called him a “stand-up guy,” sending shockwaves through the conservative blogosphere.

CAIR is no ordinary guest. The government has blacklisted it as an unindicted terrorist co-conspirator, and the group remains under criminal suspicion by the FBI, which has cut off outreach ties to it. .......
