Two officials said Thursday night they have been subpoenaed to answer questions next week before a federal grand jury about a high-profile Arizona sheriff who gained attention for aggressively cracking down on illegal immigration.
Arpaio is widely known for tough jail policies and pushing the bounds on local immigration efforts. He has led a dozen crime and immigration sweeps, some in heavily Latino areas.
Critics allege that some of Arpaio's deputies racially profiled people during immigration sweeps. But Arpaio maintains that people pulled over in the sweeps were approached because deputies had probable cause to believe they had committed crimes.

The only surprise is how long it took the liberals to use this tactic against him.
They are out to get Sheriff Joe no matter what it takes. If they can’t find anything they will make it up.
I hope they succeed in driving out Sheriff Joe...he’d make a great governor.

I just hope Sheriff Joe has like minded staff and the people of his county elect a successor like him.
The man is doing his duty to the US and the current federal administration kowtowing to the real racist special interest groups are going to try and burn him for it.
We can’t profile terrorists and we can’t look for illegals. We are giving this nation away incrementally and some hard decisions are going to have to be made.

This needs to be nipped in the bud, and then Erik Holder needs to be held to account for partisan misuse of criminal authority (criminalizing political differences), and IMPEACHED along with his anti-constitutional boss .
HUH! ...and US Attorney General Eric Holder declared us a “nation of cowards” on race...
