Thousands clashed with police during a funeral procession Thursday for six of seven people killed in an attack on churchgoers leaving a midnight Mass for Coptic Christians, security officials said. Throughout the day, protesters in the southern town of Nag Hamadi pelted police with rocks and damaged cars and stores.
Early in the day, they smashed ambulances outside a hospital in frustration over delays in turning over the bodies for burial. A security official said police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd.
The riots followed an attack the previous night, in which three gunmen in a car sprayed automatic gunfire into a crowd leaving a church in Nag Hamadi, about 40 miles north of the ancient ruins of Luxor.

According to the article, these rioters were Copts, not Muslims.
Obama must be so pleased.
They didn't shoot themselves.
Yes, after radical Muslims KILLED seven Christians attending church! Hello!
Correction, MURDERED the Christian Copts.
Now THERE'S a phrase any country should be PROUD to in corporate into their tourist literature!
It would also make a truly OUTSTANDING name for a punk-rock band.
Well, if a Christian man raped a Muslim girl, I guess shooting into a crowd of Christians is OK from a R.O.P. point of view...
I wonder if they honor-killed the girl who was raped?
Yes and they were rioting because the authorities took so long releasing the bodies of 7 Christians murdered on Christmas who were killed as they left Church following Midnight Mass. The muslims murdered innocent and unarmed Christians thus causing the rioting.
Don’t you know? Muslims killing Christians is freedom of religion. Withholding bodies to prevent Christian burials is crime prevention. Christians protesting against these acts is persecution.
The only way Christians will get attention in Egypt is if they go out to bury thir dead (killed by Muslims) in such a way that it can’t be ignored even by the hostile world press.
I bet there will be no Christians in Egypt within a decade. But where will they go? Barry doesn’t want ME Christians here, I can tell you that.
Copts are being continually targeted because they are not Muslims. This is an ongoing thing.
Notice how biased the reporting was. Instead of saying that Christians were protesting the SLAUGHTER of innocent Copts, the reporter said they “rioted.” Hell, if someone killed a family member and the gov’t and authorities did nothing, the word “riot” would not even begin to describe my reaction.
“Egypts Interior Ministry said it suspected that Wednesdays attack was in retaliation for the alleged November rape of a Muslim girl by a Christian man in the same town. The man is in custody awaiting trial.”
I think that I see what this is. Moslem girl makes clame of rape, picks Christian as patsy to protect herself from stoning, or to cover for her Muslim boyfriend.

I would think someone whose handle is CharlesMartel would understand that in Muslim Egypt the police DO NOTHING when Christians are killed, murdered, raped and their businesses destroyed.
The police don’t even pretend to be even handed in Egypt.
The Copts are on their own, as they are in ANY Muslim country.
Pray for the persecuted church!
offer all the Christians, asylum...then turn the desert to glass...
then return them to their new improved glass floored home....
but if the Bush administration wasn't going to do this...the zer0 administrunz certainly won't.
I am well aware of that. However this article is about the subsequent riots, where participants chanted stuff like "Live Long the Cross".
Perhaps instead of commenting "The ROP strikes again", something like "Christians fight back in Egypt!" would've been more appropriate.
That's precisely why I thought clarification was warranted - it's not often that the Christians in those lands shove back, even a little.
