> In order for Brit to recommend Christianity to Tiger, it must be implied that he does not favor Buddhism. Therefore, by extension, he is now guilty of a hate crime against the religion of Confucious.
Buddhism. Confucianism. Two different things. Look it up.
Half Catholic, half Jewish, and all idiot! LOL.
Drat, that kills my joke. :D
thanks, I did admit my error in post #68 - but really, they are both two examples of the same - men trying to approach God (or their concept of God) according to their own righteous deeds.
There are really only two “religions”, one is a salvation based on works or human effort - the other based on salvation by grace through faith in the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
So, whether a group calls themselves Buddhists, Taoists, Mormons, Catholics, Baptists - or whatever - if their faith isn’t based upon the finished work of Christ upon the Cross it is vain and meaningless.
Brit Hume is right, it is only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that someone can deal with all the lusts that are so much a part of our wicked fleshly nature.
God bless.
Half Catholic, half Jewish, and all idiot! LOL.
Just a regular MSM type. If Hume had suggested Islam for Tiger, there would not even BE a story. The muzzies are more Tiger’s style anyhow- four wives now and unlimited concubines in the afterlife/s;)
Huh? If you of a sex offender in your neighbor taking an interest in kids, you're not going to judge his actions as wrong and take steps to protect the children in the neighborhood?
Of course, Tiger Woods promiscuous and adulterous behavior should be judged. It harmed his wife and kids and it is the sort of behavior that harms society.
Whatever happened to “judge not, lest ye be judged?”
About the child molester, yes, I would do my best to protect children from him or her, but...if he has already been adjudged a pedophile, then that should take care of it.
The pedophile, Tiger Woods and all of us will go through judgment one day. Some get their judgment in this life, some in the next life and some in both. Whatever happens, it’s not up to determine that this or that person is going to everlasting damnation. We are all sinners, even those who claim to have been saved. You’re not truly saved until you appear before your Maker, He looks over your record and He makes that decision.
Whatever happened to basic Bible literacy? The passage in question is a command to judge -- REMOVE THE PLANK FROM YOUR OWN EYE SO YOU CAN REMOVE THE PLANK FROM YOUR BROTHER'S EYE. The Bible commands believers to judge, just not hypocritically.
Re: casting out...where do you draw the line, or do you draw the line? Even Jesus forgave the adulteress (if no one else will condemn you, neither will I). Will you also cast me out because I like to gamble from time to time, or someone else might like to drink a little, or your neighbor used a curse word or lied? Do we set up an arbitrary list of sins for which we condemn others, but we forgive the ones we perceive as minor? Which are major and which are minor?
I guess I believe differently from you. That's ok by me. I just think that we need to examine our own consciences before we condemn someone else. Quite frankly, I know my conscience is not all that clear; so it's hypocritical for me to besmirch someone else. I'll leave that to the perfect One — God.
No, because are redeemed and have asked Jesus Christ for forgiveness for our sins. The Bible states believers apply the law to unbelievers so they will realize they are sinners in need of a Savior, too.
