National Counterterrorism Center Director Michael Leiter didn't cut his holiday ski trip short upon learning of the attempted bombing of a Detroit-bound airliner Christmas Day, the New York Daily News reports.
Leiter, who is in charge of analyzing terror threats, reportedly didn't return to his office post in McLean, Va., until several days after the holiday, and his decision to do so has been looked down upon by intelligence officials.
"People have been grumbling that he didn't let a little terrorism interrupt his vacation," a source told the Daily News.

It didn’t interrupt ‘fearless leader’s’ either, so I’m not surprised.

Although he doesnt appear to be overly attentive to his position he is a white guy who got picked to be thrown under the bus by Obama.
Is that playing the race card? Yeah it probably is,but how can Obama complain about a guy who ddnt return from vacation, whe he didnt return either.
Anyway the public is screaming and someone has to go. We can’t fire the woman, Napolitano, who said the system worked, so we dig down and find this white guy who was out skiing.
As I have been posting over and over on this issue: Prior to this, liberals did not see terrorism as a threat.
Liberals believe terrorism is a contrived issue by conservatives and their masters in the military & industrial complex.
Of course, now that terrorism threatens the liberal domestic agenda, they will take it a bit more seriously. However, most will be window dressing.
i am more interested in knowing why border security didn’t alert the pilot of the plane that they had someone questionable on board....i suppose the WH will fire Leiter, but it will open them up to criticism that they are firing him for something the Prez did: stay on vacation when he should have been on top of things in Washington.
I guess you’ve seen the thread about the liberal radio talk show host (must have all of a dozen listeners) who said the bomb plot was a Republican effort to embarrass Dear Leader.

Was watching Michelle Malkin on Fox News this morning; Leitner is a Bush 'holdover' and Obama looking for a head he can roll; and looks like it might be Leithner's. Not say he does not deserve this; but in a 'terror crisis' would not Obama - or is it Rahm, who speaks 'for' Obama - be in contact with 'his people'; including Janet Naolitano, for that matter, before she makes the first public statement (which was a diaster of it's own.)
Just 'who' did Obama make contact with re this situation per it's disclosure and unfolding? Let's see where and when, responsibility began it's crumbling.
Am so glad the 'ONE" is taking it upon himself to find out the weak link here - because he is such a 'responsible' guy. IMHO, the truth is in Obama's own mirror; which he no doubt checks often to confirm his own presence.
Be nice if c-apan could take their cameras into Obama's weekly (?) Security Meetings and see what the heck they talk about.

I don’t see much evidence of this. 0’s poll numbers have been rising for the last week! (-23 to -10 on Rasmussen).
It will be interesting to see if there is any reaction after today’s revelation that our government knew the underwear terrorist was on the flight but wanted to wait for him to arrive on US soil for questioning! (Fox).
