Obama Lies Health Plan Tax Only for Rich, but Middle Class is Real Victim of Tax Raise
Associated Content (AC) ^ | January 7, 2010 | Marc Schenker

Obama lies that the health plan tax is only for the rich, but it's the middle class who is the real victim of a tax raise. When Obama shadily says that he only wants to tax "high-end" health insurance plans, "altruistically" to pay for uninsured Americans' coverage, what he really means is he wants to tax the middle class and their health insurance plans. However, you only will come to this realization if you weed your way through Obama's BS, which, in his defense, is pretty thick. What Obama deviously terms "high-end" health plans actually includes plans starting at merely $8500 for individuals!

The content is irrelevant. Any federal version of health care is unconstitutional since Article 1 Section 8 does not grant Congress the power to regulate health care. The people are not bound by any unconstitutional act of Congress and are not required to comply. That is the point people need to drive home with their politicians!

the poor need car insurance and life insurance too?

Why not tax those while you’re at it, zerO!

(After listening through 2008 to democrat attack ads, ad nauseum, against John McCain, who “will tax your health benefits” - did a web search and got more hits than I could handle. What a steaming pile of democrat hypocrisy)

watch your TRICARE premiums and deductibles- they will go up. Already got notice about my dental. Can’t imagine the “imputed value” of that for taxation.

First of all, individuals will not be paying the tax directly. The tax is paid by insurers. It will be 35% on the cost of policies above $8000 for individuals and $21,000 for families. The insurers will then likely pass that cost on to their customers in the form of higher premiums, reduced benefits, or both.

I’m worried. Husband is retiring this year and I’m afraid of the unknown. Then throw all of this really big UNKNOWN into the mix and it leads to serious heartburn. :-)

OBAMA LIED - HEALTHCARE DIED - - - - - - -
Wishful thinking here.
____________________________________________________________

May not be wishful thinking. IMO, the support of this bill is fragile and shaky on capital hill to say the least. I offer the following:

1. Support is an all time low (and likely going lower)
2. Select Senators and Congressmen paid off. Rest of the country sees this and hates it even more.
3. State’s already threatening thier rights and nullify this thing.
4. This bill is unconstitutional and numerous lawsuits will be filled if passed.
5. Several Dums have already announced retirement.
6. It is sn election year. There is a strong chance that Brown will win in Mass.
7. Both Public Option and Abortion is critical for this to pass or fail.
8. Closed door negotiations with no conference is just pouring gasoline on the fire.

Hence, the alliance for the bill is fragile and loosely knit. Given it is an election year, it is very possible that this support will quickly and suddenly collapse. That is worth praying for.

The real kicker in all of this is that the monetary trigger setting off the 40% excise tax on “Cadillac” policies is not indexed to inflation. So if your policy is not classified as “Cadillac” at the moment just wait a year or two. This goes way beyond devious. Either companies will start offering less coverage or reduce salaries to defer the additional cost. This will primarily effect the middle class whom the man child promised again and again not to tax. As each day passes I’m becoming increasingly convinced that this country has elected a Marxist or an idiot or some combination of both!

My wife and I both have good jobs which puts us in the top 10%. I have 30 years in at my company. I might just retire early and enjoy instead of having my income seized to pay for deadbeats. Why should I pay for others?

For the military using TRICARE as primary or secondary, the govt IS our insurer- will they tax us on what they provide us? Ditto with MEDICARE- an increase in premiums or deductibles is a tax, at least to ordinary people

Ah, but companies cannot offer “less” coverage- what (and who) they MUST cover is mandated by Congress- GOTCHA

I’ve heard that most healthy young people who may now not be buying insurance, are going to be forced into what congress terms a “cadillac” plan by all the required coverages for “preventative” care
