Aside from the usual he-lied/she-lied accusations, does anyone know if we citizens have any legal means by which these Congressional dirty-deals can be made public? Is there any way to legally force the televising of the meetings? Can any of our weenie Republicans bring some kind of civil suit? Can SCOTUS get involved? What are the procedures, if any, for intervention at any of these levels?
I just cannot imagine that the intent of the Founding Fathers was to allow people like Pelosi, Reid, and Obama the freedom to impose dictatorial measures upon the people.
One of our FR sharpies must have an answer...
What did the crowd do in Florida when they tried to do the re re re re recount in secret?
“Let us in! Let us in!”
Love to see how 10,000+ people committed to entering the capitol building could be stopped.
I would think this an excellent idea, but they didn't hear the voices of our people during the tea parties.
I am hoping there is some legal recourse that could be taken to stop Pelosi and Reid in their tracks. You know, tie it up for months and months as it is passed from one venue to another.
A. No.
The mechanisms, rules, and internal mechanics of the Congress are determined by each body, and any attempt to seek an injunction or some writ to compel opening these up to the public would be turned away from the courts as a political question - one which properly belongs in the legislative branch and not the court.
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."
Don't feed the tree, don't get the fruit.
To start, a large demonstration at the Capitol is needed. The demonstrators should attempt to enter the meeting. When the police try to remove them they should offer civil disobedience and force the police to perform a mass arrest. This should be done every day during these closed meetings.
