I have mixed feelings about Dodd’s departure. I am glad that he will no longer be in the Senate but with another Dem on the ballot they are more likely to retain the seat. Also it would have been nice to see this guy go down in flames in an actual election

Dorgan probably makes it easier to pick up his seat.

But i think Dodd’s retirement makes it a little LESS likely that we pick up his seat.

I wanted to see him humiliated big time. Blumenthal will be as bad as Dodd. Another insufferable know it all.

It’s too bad that we couldn’t get any of our ethically challenged senators to step down, we wouldn’t have lost Alaska and there’d be no health care plan if Ted Stevens hadn’t insisted on running again (I know, his conviction was eventually overturned, but politics is about what the people believe about you, and it was clear he’d had a hard time winning).

And don’t forget Conrad Burns in 2006.

Dodd joins Torrecelli on the ash heap of corrupt Democrat Senators who got a visit from “Bruno”. I can still hear Rush imitating Clinton sweet talking the Torch into getting out.

I have concluded that this is exactly WHY they sent Tom Daschle up to the Hill last spring to testify in an Armani suit.

Go head, step out there boldly and take one for the team, boys! If it costs you re-election, not to worry. We have connections that will take care of you. Just take a look at your former colleague Tommy Boy.

So, these guys get to thumb their noses at us and vote for policies to destroy us all and then simply walk away scot free with their accumulated loot to cushy, prearranged jobs.

Sweet.

The Obamunist scorched-earth strategy towards achieving U.S. fasco-socialism continues to unfold. Indeed, as many have forecast, Dims are being sacrificed. However, it’s now clear the sacrifice has not been unwitting. What we now are witnessing is that the sacrifice has been deliberate and knowing political suicide, rather than a naive throwing-under-the-bus.

The brilliance of this strategy is that there’s a good chance the Obamunists can have their cake and eat it too. There will no longer be a plethora of wildly unpopular incumbent Dims upon which the wrath of the electorate can be unleashed by voting in protest for the “other guy”.

Instead, the Dims are simply retiring the hated incumbents and running new candidates without any baggage. Even better, they can handpick those most amenable to their fasco-socialist aims, though of course, as with Obama himself, they’ll be trotted out as middle-of-the-road candidates. Instead of a passel of pariahs, the Obamunists will have a brand new shiny bunch of wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing all ready to continue to perpetuate Obamunism.

I can only hope and pray the electorate does not fall for these latest Obamunist tricks.

Dodd needs to be fitted for an orange jumpsuit! Good riddance.

The only sad thing about all these Rats jumping ship is that they’ll all end up as financially insulated multi-millionaires and will NEVER be punished for the damage and closed-door dealings they’re attended to sell America down the river.

That goes for BOTH sides of the aisle, IMHO.
