WASHINGTON GOP Chairman Michael Steele thinks Republicans have "screwed up" for the most part in the years since Ronald Reagan was president. And, he adds in an interview on the heels of his new book's release, Republicans won't win back the House in fall elections and might not be ready to lead even if they do.
That forecast of failure sparked a pushback Tuesday at the GOP's own National Republican Congressional Committee, whose aim is to elect Republicans, and delight at its counterpart, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

I don’t know why but, ‘Milk Dud’ is what I come up with when I think of this loser.

I have shamelessly quoted you verbatim, because this is exactly correct and cannot be said often enough. Everytime I get talked into supporting the GOP one more time, Steele opens his mouth once and I am ready to bolt independent.
Maybe we can take up a collection....and buy him a set of stones....where the he$% is Tom Delay....
I would imagine that Steele is pessimistic because he comes from MD, where everything that can go wrong for the GOP usually always does. He lacks faith in real republicanism.
Ken Blackwell still stands head and shoulders above them all.
Republicans forfeited the right to save America during the W administration.
Fast forward to about 2:15.

Listen carefully as Michael Steele says “you’re right” - after the host compared the RNC Convention to Nazi Germany.
This is the guy that leads our party? What a joke, he’s needs to resign or be forced out.
If he means because they won't run true Conservatives then he might be right.
But if he means they can't win even if they go Conservative then he needs to resign immediately and get someone in there who knows how to at least PRETEND that they are fighting for the views of what amounts to about 60% of the American people at this point.
Right, but for some reason the RNC members wanted Steele. I guess we’ll never know why, must be defeatism at work, I suppose.
Immediate resignation.
I have no doubt that you (MR. Steele)cannot retake a damned thing, but that does not mean we the people can’t.
The GOP is utterly useless.

Review
Michael Steeles book is a prescription for not only returning the Republican Party to powerits an action plan for bringing the party of Lincoln back to the conservative principles upon which both it and the nation were founded. Its a must-read for everyone who believes that Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness is more than an antiquated catchphrase in a historical document.
Mark R. Levin, New York Times bestselling author of Liberty and TyrannyA Conservative Manifesto
In the face of exploding deficits, an attempt to nationalize healthcare, and the erosion of the values that made America great, Michael Steele is taking a stand. Upon witnessing the suffering of the United States and the Republican Party when it abandons its core conservative principles, Steele sounds a long-overdue battle cry for a fresh, energetic conservatism to fight Obamas socialist vision.
Sean Hannity, national radio and television talk show host
With wit and insight, passion and judgment, Michael Steele points the way to a GOP comeback.
William J. Bennett, the host of nationally syndicated radio show Morning in America and former Secretary of Education under President Reagan
This guy is a ‘mole’ and all of the above.
More and more, I’m thinking the GOP is playing at being inept and letting the grassroots do the heavy lifting, and hoping they get back in their good graces by default.

They want to play center. They will infinitely compromise, and tell the left how much better it is that they stand between us and policy changes.
Just the kind of thinking we need going into the 2010 mid terms. This guy needs to pack his bags and get out of Dodge.
The GOP could save some money by not meddling in primary races where they aren’t needed. In my district we have good conservative republican running but the NRCC apparently doesn’t trust us so they imported a carpetbagger with zero legislative experience to run against the conservative.
Sarah was the Chairman of the Alaska Republican Committee for quite some time. That’s where I originally met her.
How long is this guy head of the RNC?
