A Month in the life of George W. Bush ( News and photos) January 2010
www,georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news ^ | 4th January 2010 | Snugs

As a new year commences I am sure we all miss the steadying hand of George W Bush who in the wake of terrorism or natural disaster gave us a feeling of calm amid the storm, of someone in control yet a man of compassion. This was shown during late 2004 early 2005 when an earthquake and violent tsunamis struck the nations that surround the Indian Ocean.

I have in fact chosen his radio message from January 2005 as the quote of the month for the first monthly dose of 2010.

A man of conviction and compassion, not all did and do agree with what he did but most will agree what he did he did from the belief that it was the right decision and done for the love of his country and its people and not for personal gain or popularity.

I feel the stark contrast with the current occupant of the White House more so each day when I turn the TV on to see what publicity stunt the current President is involved in. Even his decision to send more troops to Afghanistan he felt necessary to qualify with a promise of reducing numbers within so many months, again reminding us of the difference in character between the current and the previous President.

I hope the following photos from January 2005 give you some happy memories of a time when things however bad seemed more manageable and achievable because the President was in control and defending America and all she stands for instead of apologising.

Happy New Year to all and God Bless America and George W Bush and what he meant to us all during 8 very special years.

“They were wonderful, and I miss them every day. =(”

Me too, but I’m sure they are loving their life as it is now rather than what it was when he was President. He was treated so shabbily. I am hearing more and more people report they are experiencing “buyers remorse”. Too bad they weren’t paying closer attention BEFORE they voted.

GWB UPDATES . . .

RECENT POLL RESULTS: CNN 1/24/10

43% favorable George W Bush
[UP 9 points favorable // DOWN 8 points unfavorable for a total of 17 points UP . . . and this is a CNN poll which means you can add at least 5 points to the favorable and subtract 5 points from his unfavorable!]

44% favorable Biden

30% favorable Pelosi

22% favorable Reid

Yep, our ‘unpopular’ President Bush is more popular than the Democrat leaders in Congress and at least as popular as the Democrat VP . . . and that’s using a sample that grossly favors Democrats!

You made my day! =)
But I think there´s a more accurate poll: I asked readers if they missed President Bush and more than 90% said yes! But really happy to hear the CNN poll results, people are awakening.

I bookmarked the video. Really excited about the Bush Presidential Center. Do you know if people like me could attend the opening?

Thank you for sharing the article by Dana Perino and Bill Burk - I wish the Obama Administration does the right and they try the terrorists in a military court.

Thank you! =)

“He´s so cute.” He is, indeed. =) I think that he was the most handsome President we´ve ever had, by the way. I miss him... *sigh*

Is there a ping list for this thread? If so, I want to get added, but don´t know how, I´m as dumb as Nancy Pelosi....

DrDeb, thank you.

I have decided there is something I don't like about your posts. When I go to the links and read about President Bush, or watch a video of someone speaking about him---and especially when I watch a video, like today, of him speaking (especially when it is interspersed with flashbacks to older videos), it makes me miss him all the more. I loved the video to which you just posted a link. I loved hearing him talk about his plans (he is so excited about this, isn't he?!). I loved seeing the snippets of previous speeches. Wow. We were so blessed---and I miss him so very much.
