A Month in the life of George W. Bush ( News and photos) January 2010

As a new year commences I am sure we all miss the steadying hand of George W Bush who in the wake of terrorism or natural disaster gave us a feeling of calm amid the storm, of someone in control yet a man of compassion. This was shown during late 2004 early 2005 when an earthquake and violent tsunamis struck the nations that surround the Indian Ocean.

I have in fact chosen his radio message from January 2005 as the quote of the month for the first monthly dose of 2010.

A man of conviction and compassion, not all did and do agree with what he did but most will agree what he did he did from the belief that it was the right decision and done for the love of his country and its people and not for personal gain or popularity.

I feel the stark contrast with the current occupant of the White House more so each day when I turn the TV on to see what publicity stunt the current President is involved in. Even his decision to send more troops to Afghanistan he felt necessary to qualify with a promise of reducing numbers within so many months, again reminding us of the difference in character between the current and the previous President.

I hope the following photos from January 2005 give you some happy memories of a time when things however bad seemed more manageable and achievable because the President was in control and defending America and all she stands for instead of apologising.

Happy New Year to all and God Bless America and George W Bush and what he meant to us all during 8 very special years.

Genuine is a great word to describe GWB. Genuine is not a word I would ever use (at least in a positive sense) about 44.

That picture is great—it brings back wonderful memories—but on the other hand is almost painful to look at. I miss him so very much.

I came across this picture today. I found a couple things I had never seen before.

1. The "W" cufflinks! Aren't they great? I think I love them because though they are gold and very lovely, they also show a fun side--his nickname. I thought they were very neat.

2. The George Bush Sharpie. You can tell that that Sharpie was made for him---we all know his signature well enough to recognize what little we can see in the picture. How cool that they manufactured those for the president. I sure would love to have one! :)

I know... He was such a great President! I hope he’s enjoying life in Dallas, I know he was really looking forward to that. He deserves the best, so does Laura.
They were wonderful, and I miss them every day. =(

I'm going way back, Kath, to the days and months after 9/11. He was a real patriot and recognized the patriotism, honor and courage of President Bush.

The last few years he's gone crazy, IMO. I think it brought him better ratings in the "I hate Bush" years.

Now when he lumps Bush in with Obama and Republicans with Democrats, he looks like a complete fool. It almost negates the good he's doing for me.

As soon as he starts with the garbage, the radio or TV go OFF.

The problem with meeting him is that the minute the tickets go on sale for wherever he's appearing, they are GONE.

I guess that's because he's so "unpopular"...........LOL!

(A whole LOT of us miss him!)

Hey, radiohead! We're all doing just great, thank you.

Eric's graduated from college and is deciding on what he wants to do with the rest of his life. MANY options (he's got a pretty good resume for a kid. ;)

How are you doing??
