Digital News Report Besides collecting taxes and going after tax cheats, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will be going after Americans who do not purchase private health insurance.
The new health care legislation being debated in Congress will put the IRS in charge of making sure Americans purchase a health insurance policy. Those who dont pay will be penalized because all Americans will be forced to purchase a policy.
Besides making sure citizens do buy insurance, the IRS will assess penalties on those who do not. They will also collect new fees from businesses and oversee enforcement.
Already understaffed and overburdened, the IRS will need more agents. The CBO estimates that the extra cost would be $5 to $10 billion over the first 10 years. So far, neither bill in the House or the Senate includes any funding this.
My reply was meant that I don’t really care what happens to me. I do very much care what happens to my family, country, etc. If I die trying to preserve our country or proving a point, then so be it. You aren’t going to live forever and I might as well go down for a purpose.

I hear ya...
Come and get me assholes.
How is the IRS going to fine a homeless person? The jails cannot contain the people who do not buy health insurance!
Newsweak??? What are they bitchin’ about a police state for? They LOVE the new socialist police state under socialist-fascist-commie pig 0bozo and his band of fellow demoRAT thugs!!!!
I’m pushing 63 and feel the same way you do . If I become a martyr so be it. These a-holes are messing up my sons (26 and 30 yr. old ) futures and it is REALLY pi$$ing me off. I’m just waiting for the spark. An all out attack on the Second amendment might be the ticket .
You want tyranny you got it! They continue to poke and tease the tiger in the cage......
In SC, it isn't necessary even then. You just got to prove financial accountability to drive a car on the public roads. Most of us do it with insurance, but if you got securities or spare cash, you can deposit that to cover your liabilities, No wrecks, no losses, get it all back when you want it, and walk or drive a moped instead.
How is the IRS going to fine a homeless person?
This will be free and all others who fall below the governments estimate of poverty level. Those of us who do the right thing earn a living and pay our bills will be jailed if we refuse to foot the bill. REDISTRIBUTION!!!! NO MATTER WHICH WAY YOU LOOK AT IT
Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner here!
The IRS is staffed with affirmative action hires, criminals,
tax cheats in charge, and those who pay no taxes at all if you are SEIU or ACORN.
The IRS has been organized crime forever!
>>>How is the IRS going to fine a homeless person?
They wouldn’t. The homeless will get coverage free. The IRS will go after salaried employees.
Perhaps they are suggesting that one should look like a homeless person to escape the net.
Not that I disbelieve you but, do you have any links/sources for that? I know the IRS has always had a bad rep, and I dont like them any more than anyone else, but..affirmative action hires? Organized crime? Are we talking about THE mafia? Or just run of the mill criminal bean counters?
I remember reading one time that the IRS is allowed to use “deadly force” in performing its mission.
Good to know......
<<<< United States vs Reynolds. No citizen can be coerced to enter into a contract. Indentured Servitude and all that jazz. Its settled law.

So is ‘child support’ - and under current Louisiana law there are at least 5 different ways that an order can exceed 100% of your income !!!
State imposed. Your state can do this to you the feds cannot. At least not constitutionally.
Of course. They can levy and attach everything you own or ever will own.
