Here is my letter to Omaha Steaks (custserv@omahasteaks.com) & their reply re: Ben Nelson support and boycott of Omaha Steaks-
My name is ____ (Atomic Vomit). I have gifted others with your fine beef over the years. Now that I have found that your company is a major contributor to Sen. Ben Nelson I will no longer purchase or accept your products. You support Ben Nelson- I dont support you.
Pass this on to Senator Nelson. He's costing your company a lot of business. Nelson wont listen to American voters. He Will listen to you.
Tell Ben Nelson he's fired. Right now. We aren't waiting till 2012.

We understand that healthcare reform is of great concern to all Americans. We are confident, however, that boycotting Nebraska companies is not the answer to resolving the issues within the proposed legislation. This is typical of leftists - when the specific isn’t in your favor, divert attention to the general.
You’re not talking about boycotting all Nebraska companies, just those like Osteaks that contribute to Nelson.

you know this is a great idea. The things is the politicians have contempt for the people but we aren’t the ones lining their pockets. I wonder if this approach was taken with every one of these idiots that a change could not be brought about. They are’t afraid of losing their seats but losing their donors is something completely different.
But having other people pay for Nebraska's bills DOESN'T hurt employees in other states? And this whole health care plan DOESN'T bankrupt our country and the people who aren't even born yet?

My response would be something like.
“Dear Ms. Davis,
The intent of the boycott is to shut your company down and ultimately have you lose your job. Thus, companies that support a politician who is selling out their country will find themselves in a position where they do not have the financial ability to continue to do so.
The silver lining for you is that you will have health care provided by those Americans who do continue to work. So don’t worry about that whole “job” thing, after all your buddies in the Democrat party are making sure that’s not an issue.”

Wow! I had no idea this company supported Nelson. Our son and DIL (VERY conservative) usually send us a package of steaks, etc. for Christmas.
Will give them a *head’s up* about this. I’m sure they’ll make the *right* decision.

Does Rush promote Omaha Steaks from time to time?
Julie makes a decent point about hurting fellow American workers however sometime one must take the chemotherapy in order to kill the cancer.
I think he only does Allen Brothers Steak.
Noooo, Rush promotes Allen Brothers. Great hot dogs.
Their response clearly shows they are taking some heat and concerned about the future of their company.
Omaha Steaks are highly over-rated and way too expensive. Their quality has dropped significantly in the last few years. The burgers shrink up to look like sausages. The only good thing about their packages is the dry ice and the free ice-chest. My sons often send a package of Omaha Steaks for my birthday. No more!
This Nebraska-born Cornhusker will also write a letter to Omaha Steaks and alert my sons, as well.
Tell that to your employees. They might lose their jobs because Omaha Steaks contributes to Ben Nelson. Let them decide who the bad guys are.
I must get at least 3 packets of mail from Omaha Steaks every week.
And the corollary argument is that supporting traitorous politicians results in lost jobs and potentially hurts employees ad naseum. There are consequences to decisions. They are free to make their choices, but it's not rational to expect there to be no repercussions to those decisions.
