RMCP Make Arrest Connected to Pipeline Bombings
Kate Yule
Friday, January 8, 2010
The RCMP have made an arrest and are searching a rural Alberta farm in connection with a series of gas pipeline bombings in British Columbia.
Inspector Tim Shields says a man in his 50s or 60s is now in custody. His name has not been released, as no charges have been laid.
Officers are now doing an extensive search of a farm about 25 kilometres east of the Alberta-B.C. boundary.
Police are not saying who owns the property, but a lawyer for convicted gas well bomber Wiebo Ludwig says it is Ludwigs farm.
Ludwig and another man were charged and convicted in two gas well bombings in Alberta.
There have been six pipeline bombings targeting Encana sites in B.C. since October 2008.

Islamic Jihad organisations that already had infiltrated countries in Africa and South America intended doing the same in the Balkans, through similar methods including huge transfers of funds and the establishment of cells, Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman said. Lieberman was speaking after meeting visiting Macedonian prime minister Nikola Gruevski on January 5 2009.
Intelligence services had evidence that Islamic terrorist organisations were already recruiting in the Balkans, Lieberman said, according to Israeli media reports. Islamic and Saudi charities were continuously transferring funds to Muslims of Bosnian and Albanian origin, the Jerusalem Post reported him as saying.

Possible Explosives Found In DeKalb Condo (Georgia)
January 7, 2010
The discovery of possible explosives inside a DeKalb County condo under renovation forced the evacuation Thursday of two buildings and a construction site. The scene was cleared by 3:15 p.m. The devices were discovered during a remodeling project at a unit in the 1300 block of E. Rock Springs Road, according to Mekka Parish of the DeKalb County Police Department.
Channel 2 Action News reporter Tom Jones spoke to a construction worker who said there appeared to be about 100 hand grenades in two boxes. The bomb squad was called and ordered the evacuation of the condo building, the building next door and a nearby construction site. Residents were allowed back into the buildings after the bomb squad removed the devices.

An airliner with 132 passengers and crew aboard was diverted to Colorado Springs Airport today after an intoxicated passenger became unruly and locked himself in a bathroom, officials said.
AirTran Airways Flight 39 was en route from Atlanta to San Francisco when it made an unscheduled landing in Colorado Springs at 11:30 a.m., said John McGinley, the airport’s assistant director of operations.
Two F-16 fighter planes were deployed by NORAD to escort the plane to landing in the Springs, NORAD officials said in a release.
The passenger, whose identity was not immediately released, was taken off the plane by Colorado Springs Police officers. He was being detained, but had not been arrested, McGinley said.
“Given the current climate, it’s just not a good idea,” McGinley said of the man’s actions during the flight.
The plane will remain at the airport while the incident is being investigated. Then it is expected to resume its flight and head to its destination.
No flights or other operations at the airport were disrupted.http://www.gazette.com/articles/plane-91986-springs-passenger.html
I see no reason to serve alcohol on planes! Look at how much money these drunks cause the airlines and security to spend on them when we should be concentrating on terrorists.
Two boxes of grenades?
Oooooooooogly.
How can they call 100 hand grenades “possible explosives”?
Your post 841 - thanks for the air travel thread link. You’re terrific JP - although I must say if I can drive somewhere rather than fly, that’s the option I’ll be taking!
Thats why I go by car once a year up North, your most great btw
~So I guess we can expect this daily

If it’s this guy Weibo, I wonder why he’s still not in jail from the previous bombings?
Ping to #994

They guy Cellski says the drunk had a “razor”.
I was wondering if he meant like a box-cutter? Regardless, how does this guy get on the plane with any type of razor?
