Pregnancy Center in Arizona Severely Burned in Apparent Arson Attack

Whiteriver, AZ -- A pregnancy center in rural eastern Arizona that serves a predominantly native American population was severely burned in what appears to be an arson attack. The Living Hope Women's Center clinic has closed indefinitely as a result of a fire that gutted a portion of the building on December 20.

Another spiked MSM story.

What a surprise!

Is “pregnancy center” another euphemism for abortion clinic?

When the left carries out terrorist attacks, the media somehow forget to do their outrage act.

I read the article but still can't tell if they perform abortions. They describe themselves as "pro-life" and I would like to assume that they mean the same thing I do when I use that term but I can't really tell for sure.

Anyone know anything about this clinic?

Most “pregnancy centers” offer counseling, information, and assistance. They are anathema to abortion mills.

I do not know about the specific pregnancy center in this case.

No, a pregnancy center is usually an alternative to an abortion clinic. It’s a place that helps women in difficulty to have their babies instead of aborting them. Often such women are single or are short of the money needed to support a baby.

In this case, it seems to be a center to help Indian women have their babies in a community that is already pro-life but poor.

Never mind. I looked a little on the internet and see that they don’t perform or make referrals for abortion. Sorry everyone.

From their mission statement:

womenscpc.org

Living Hope Women's Center of the White Mountains is a Christian ministry dedicated to the sanctity of human life, the belief in abstinence until marriage and the teaching of sound Christian precepts of life-style and parenting.

It is an opportunity for Christians to reach out in love to pregnant young women and single mothers and assist them emotionally, spiritually and physically. In the process Christ’s message of love and redemption will be seen as well as heard.

It is also an opportunity for Christians who are Pro-Life to put actions to their convictions. Young women who are in crisis pregnancies need to know the truth about abortion before they choose. It is our goal to influence a woman’s choice of LIFE for her unborn baby and to come along side her in practical, tangible ways throughout her pregnancy, delivery and afterwards.

These vandals and arsonists are a whole new class of stupid. Other than breaking half a dozen serious federal laws, State laws, and Apache tribal laws, this is a “special jurisdiction” case on a federal reservation.

...a local resident who lives next door to the clinic heard and saw people at the scene and chased them away from the clinic after the fire began. The neighbor was able to wrestle one person to the ground and the newspaper indicates the individual is now in police custody."

At least it looks like at least they will be able to catch the people who did this, and find out why.

I was able to find their web site:

Living Hope Women’s Centers

From the Stories page on the Living Hope Women’s Centers web site:

In the last newsletter we shared about a fourteen year old girl who came to us hugging her teddy bear five months pregnant. Almost a year later we are saying good-bye but she is definitely not the same little girl.

Dawn delivered her baby in December and placed him for adoption. Wanting to continue school at Blueridge she moved in with Dinah and Mike. She and their 16 year old daughter became instant "sisters." Dawn quickly made friends (lots of them) and fit right in with the waves of teens who regularly hung out at their house and raid their refrigerator. She became deeply involved with White Mountain Bible Church youth group. During this time she matured emotionally and spiritually into the young woman to whom we now say good-bye.

Dawn would like to share her feelings about this past year:

"When I first came to Hope House I was very nervous and scared. I felt really alone. I wanted to parent my baby even though I was only fifteen. I had to take classes at the clinic. I agreed grudgingly to go through classes on adoption. At first I resisted. But, I thought long and hard about what I learned and realized I couldn't be the mother my baby needed. I saw that I was still a child myself and that I needed a mom. I wanted him to have both a mommy and daddy. I wanted him to have a home and a family. It was the hardest thing I ever did to place my baby for adoption but it was the best for him - and for me.

Time seemed to drag during my pregnancy. Now, I can't believe how fast it's gone. I am a different person. I am much closer to God. I know who I am and how much I am loved and worth. I have learned to deal with my feelings in a constructive way. I've learned that the best choices aren't always the easiest. I am committed to second virginity and will share with anyone why abstinence is the best choice.

I know God loves me because he placed me in a family where I am loved and accepted. It will be hard to leave but I know that what I found here will impact my entire life. I want to say a special thank you to all of you who support this ministry with your prayers and your donations. I can't imagine where I would be if I had continued in my old lifestyle. I am a new person because of this ministry and you helped make it possible! Oh yeah, I still sleep with my teddy bear!"

Cerrina's mom was only 16 when she became pregnant. She was in rebellion and hard for her grandparents to handle. She came to the Hope House feeling abandoned and rejected. As God so often does,He took what she considered her worst circumstances and made them her best. She blossomed, grew and actually loved living there. She took parenting classes and went to counseling. Through this process she resolved so many issues and learned how to be a good mother. Today she is just that!

I wasn't sure myself so I checked them out by doing an online search. They are a PRO-Life Christian Ministry.

They help the mothers have their babies rather than abort them.

Their web site is here:

Welcome to Living Hope Women's Centers & Hope House Maternity Home

What they are about is here:

It’s horrible that women are allowed to choose death for babies.

Over a million a year do.
