The political war over the failed Christmas Day bombing of a U.S. airliner showed no signs of abating Wednesday as leaders of both parties escalated their attacks, employing fiery rhetoric in assessing blame for the Detroit incident.
Former vice president Richard B. Cheney led a GOP offensive to assail President Obama's leadership on national security, charging that the American people are less safe because, Cheney believes, Obama is "pretending" that the United States is not at war with terrorists.

David Axelrod is taking the position that terrorists are not the enemy, but rather Dick Cheney and presumably Bush are. Rather than confronting the American public’s concerns for safety, Barack Obama is still campaigning.
I suppose if you count Domestic Terrorist Bill Ayers among your close friends and Mentors you have to lay out a heavy smokescreen. There is little difference between Bill Ayers and the Underpants Bomber. Barack is going to have to repudiate both or continue to leave the impression that he’s continuing his intransigent terrorist enabling attitude.
we know we’re in a bizarro world when Maureen Dowd agrees with Dick Cheney, but her latest column* ridiculed the Obamanation on about the same grounds.....
