Sorry. Dammit I wish I knew how to post pictures. The info. about img scr= www.nameofyouronlinepic.jpg means nothing to me.
Welcome to my low-tech hell! I found your link. :)
Oh yes... I do love gnawing on uncured hide!
Voodoo?
Heavy Metal Ping List — sort of.
Actually, this would be pre-voodoo. Voodoo is the sophisticated, developed, evolved outgrowth of this kind of Third World observance.
This whole scene is so unfathomable to me that I wonder if I’m from another planet. Who are these people and how do they get enough time and money to engage in whatever this is? My first impulse is to laugh, but I have a hunch that I unwittingly helped fund this farce.
Lot of obese people in that photo.
"Support for the United Campus Ministry comes from denominational bodies of the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist church, the Presbyterian Church/USA and the American Baptist church. Support also comes from various local churches of those four denominations and Lutheran, Episcopal, American Society of Friends (Quaker) and Unitarian Universalist churches, as well as individual sponsors and grants."
Almost all cases of off-the-farm anthrax in the USA came from uncured goatskin from Africa, frequently drums.
On farms or in wool handling, cutaneous anthrax is what you get.
There was a case of inhalation-type anthrax from an African drum several years ago.
The solution clearly is to ban hippies.
“What would the Peta loving vegans say.”
Doesn’t count. African drums are used by peace loving, in-tune-with-nature, black people.
And neopagan granola munching hippies when they aren’t smoking the herb or kicking around the hackeysack.
“Who knew anthrax was an occupations hazard for those who participate in African “drum circles.” In New Hampshire, no less. “
Dang! Ain’t diversity great! lol
As a drummer, and having attended many Grateful Dead shows in the 80’s, I ALWAYS avoided these drum circles. This just gives me one more reason to never join in on one.
If it saves one child from becoming a red diaper doper baby, it'll be worth it.
All of the drums in this picture possess synthetic heads, not african goat skin. The guy with the sticks or claves is holding them wrong. The central drum is meant for two handed soloing, not as a bass drum beaten with a stick. The stick drum on the left is a Brazilian samba instrument, as are the small tamborines, and are not often seen in drum circles. This looks like a beginner circle.
A decent circle with several competent lead drummers will make you want to shake your bootie, depending on how repressed you like to keep your libido. You won’t find much beer can litter at a drum circle.
Displaying images isn’t that difficult. Use this format:
< img src=”[link]”>
where [link] is the link to the picture, which is usually a .jpg or .gif file, so it will look like this:
< img src=”http://www.somewebsite.com/folder/picture.jpg “>
Just remove the space between the “<” and the “img” when you do it.
Sounds like some communist activity. All of the people that I know that went to UNH binge drinking was the major extra curricular activity.
