The would-be bomber of the airplane en route to Detroit, Michigan last Friday is from a wealthy family and stayed in Yemen in an area heavily populated by the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization, which said it was behind the bombing.
The attempted terrorist attack again exploded the myth that claims that poverty spawns terrorism, following several incidents of wealthy Muslims being involved in terror.

If poverty were the root cause of modern-day terrorism, then why haven’t we heard from groups of tangoes from Soweto or Rio’s favelas? Those are only two of the poorest places on the planet.

If there is any obvious link or discriminator but this link tying the bad guys together is based on race (other than white), religion (Other than Christian), national origin (Other than American) you may NOT connect the dots because that's unethical and unamerican.
If you go to W. Texas you'll find many small towns that are dirt poor. Yet you don't lock homes or trucks and people “do” have guns on racks in their vehicles. Poor equals crime? There are people who are POW, they are starving and they don't steal food from their comrades........etc.
It's pure rationalization to associate crime with poverty.

What I was saying was that poverty is NOT the reason they flew those planes into the Twin Towers, Pentagon or Somerset Co., PA. This doofus that tried to bring down NW 253 on Christmas Day was from a wealthy family, just like Obama ooops I mean Osama bin Laden. We haven’t heard from the Chechens here yet; they’re Caucasian from the Caucasus and fanatic moslems. The common thread is islam, not poverty.
