Drama For Obama as Child's Injury Delays Golf Game

KAILUA, Hawaii (Reuters) - Vacationing President Barack Obama interrupted a golf game on Monday and sped back to his holiday house after the child of friends was hurt in a beach accident.

Obama, on vacation in the island state where he grew up, raced home in his motorcade in a bit of high drama shortly after arriving at a lush golf course for an afternoon game.

The child, identified by the White House as the son of Obama's friends Eric and Cheryl Whitaker, is now well and did not require stitches as first suggested, an official said.

"Eric and Cheryl Whitaker's son was examined and released from the hospital. He is home playing with his friends and just fine," said White House spokesman Bill Burton.

Eric Whitaker had been in the president's golfing party when word reached them that the boy had been injured. An ambulance with flashing lights sped past a van of reporters near the family compound after the president's arrival.

The ambulance later drove off with lights still flashing and Obama returned to the golf course to play.

"But when someone else is picking up the bill, this is the kind of stupid thing that people do. This will only get worse under Obamacare."

Not to mention the kid's dad is an MD. One would assume he knows when an ambulance is actually needed.

Furthermore, I would bet 1 week pay that there are people trained in AT LEAST first aid around the Presidente and his [cough] wife.

None of them could tell the difference between something life threatening, where an ambulance is necessary, and something that could wait for the father (MD) to rush home and evaluate?

I call complete and utter bullshtein on the entire episode.

Well I had to rub off some pretty hard banged knees, but I never pushed a bone back into place.

I was knocked unconscious a couple of times. I was hospitalized for one of them.

Other than a tonsillectomy and adenoid removal at eight, that’s about it for me until later in life.

I’m glad my parents had more sense than these folks seemed to, but then we don’t know everything about it I suppose.

"Obama, on vacation in the island state where he grew up ..."

Didn't he spend his formative years in Indonesia, where he developed whatever national loyalty he was ever to have?

.

This a-hole is arrogance personified, and really needs an attitude adjustment

Unfortunately that will not do any good. There is no resolution for that level of DSM-IV-TR = 301.81, Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Typically, as narcissism is an ingrained personality trait, rather than a chemical imbalance, medication and therapy are not very effective in treating the disorder. Schema Therapy, a form of therapy developed by Jeffrey E. Young that integrates several therapeutic approaches (psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral etc.), also offers an approach for the treatment of NPD.

It is unusual for people to seek therapy for NPD. Subconscious fears of exposure or inadequacy often cause defensive disdain of therapeutic processes. Pharmacotherapy is rarely effective. In the specific instance of The Øne there are so many levels of insulation from reality that are acting as enablers that any therapy is highly unlikely.

My personal opinion is he will appear to get better but that will only be an act as he learns how he is "supposed" to appear. As reality penetrates the levels of insulation the stress will take it's usual course and eventually he will crumble. It is what he does at THAT point that is of real concern.

Who’s gonna pay that ambulance and hospital bill?

Dunno, but you're paying for Obama's motorcade dash.

Hey, why would Obama rush off the golf course for a kid? He hardly let the kids turn on the Christmas Tree Lights!

He seems to me to be kind of a poser dad.

Are we sure it wasn’t Obama going psycho while having a bad golf day on top of the pesky public wanting a reaction to another jihad attack? Maybe Obama had to rush back for psych or anxiety meds and had to get out of the public eye before he flipped?

I have heard anxiety like that can feel like a heart attack.

Just wondering.

The kid with the booboo is nothing more than an overreaction as means of a DIVERSION from his lack of leadership over the Christmas panty bomber.

"Good grief! The child’s father is an MD—why didn’t he take care of the owie?"

He wasn't there when it happened. From the article,

"Eric Whitaker had been in the president's golfing party when word reached them that the boy had been injured."

Maybe her father was concerned about getting paid or sued for performing any services.
