Global warming at heart of political debate
The Johnstown Tribune-Democrat ^ | December 27, 2009 | Susan Evans

Second of two parts.

The pending federal effort to lessen carbon emissions, especially from coal-fired power plants – called the “cap-and-trade program” – has one single goal: To improve air quality and slow down global warming – if, that is, global warming actually exists.

As environmentalists favor cap-and-trade as an incentive to decrease harmful emissions, while the bill moves from the House of Representatives to the U.S. Senate, opponents say it will cause nothing but an economic disaster, especially for Pennsylvania’s coal industries.

And there are two extreme views on global warming.

From the National Geographic: “Glaciers are melting.

“Sea levels are rising. Cloud forests are dying and wildlife is scrambling to keep pace. It’s becoming clear that humans have caused most of the past century’s warming by releasing heat-trapping gases as we power our modern lives.

“Called greenhouse gases, their levels are higher now than in the last 650,000 years.”

From the Global Warming Petition Project: “There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate.”

A more local view, from Pennsylvania’s conservative activist Peg Luksik, who is challenging Arlen Specter for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate next year: “It’s called weather.”

In an interview at The Tribune-Democrat, Luksik explained why the cap-and-trade bill has become a personal issue with her.

“Global warming is not real.

They lie, the reason they are against more petrol is that they want to roll back progress to the 1700’s.

Contrary to what this article says, the destruction of America is the “one single goal” of global warming legislation.

Unstated goal, reduce the production capabilities of the Western nations, specifically the United States.

President Obama has said that energy costs will necessarily skyrocket.

And the notion of buying carbon offset credits from third world despots is just a Marxist plan to redistribute the wealth to tyrannical regimes accomplishing nothing for impoverished people in the world.

One of the more curious aspects of the energy debate, it's all centered on rationing energy as the only solution. Leading one to consider it's all about rationing and not solving any other problem. Yet rational people would say ‘maybe there is something to the Bush clean coal initiatives’. In fact yes there is.

An irrational mind thinks there is such a thing as "renewable energy" and builds windmills.

A clean coal demonstration project using coal gasification outside of Tampa, is now online. It has shown huge efficiency improvements. One of the best ways to generate real jobs is with real energy technologies, drilling, coal mining, improved coal fired plants, coal to liquids refineries and lastly nuclear power. All of these things can reduce real pollution, and increase efficiency.

From the National Geographic

National Geographic has run photoshopped forgery photos for the better part of 2 decades now.

What makes them an impartial objective source of information?

They question the existence of Jesus Christ and yet hold fast to the belief that MAN IS KILLING THE PLANET BY WARMING THE ATMOSPHERE!!!

The Big Lie. Make it big. And tell it often enough and it will be accepted as fact.

Al Gore is now saying that the artic ice cap will be completely melted in 5 years.

25 years ago Ted Danson said that our oceans would be dead in 20 years.

This is criminal conspiracy we are looking at. Defrauding investors and governments for trillions of dollars. Willful fabrication of research data samples. FRAUD.

[[Who is paying the carbon credits for the volcano in the Philippines? Tons and tons of ash]]

precisely! and to put htis massive fraud in context- nature is responsible for 99.8% of the TOTAL CO2 in our atmosphere, while man is only responsible for .2% for the entire industrial period- yet apparently, accordign to global warming criminals, we ‘need to act now to reverse global warming’? Yeah? And what if we cokmpletely stop our piddly .2% CO2 production? That still leaves 99.8% CO2 that nature produces and hwich we can do absolutely NOTHING to stop!

This fraud is the biggest pile of crap scam ever to hit this nation/world, and the sad fact is that these FACTS like I just stated are NOT making it into the maisntream media so that peopel understand just how assinine the alarmists claims really are

And now here is another inconvenient truth.

" A senior U.N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000. Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of "eco-refugees," threatening political chaos, said Noel Brown, director of the New York office of the United Nations U.N. Environment Program, or UNEP. He said governments have a 10-year window of opportunity to solve the... "
