The man who allegedly tried to blow up a transatlantic passenger jet over Detroit has reportedly claimed that he is one from a production line of terrorists that has been trained in Yemen by al-Qaeda.
Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, who is charged with the attempted Christmas Day bombing of Northwest Airlines flight 253, told FBI agents others with similar training to him were now ready to launch their own attacks, according to the US network ABC.
The claim came as al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula released its first communication since the failed bombing. In a written statement it called on "the people of the Arabian peninsula" to attack American military installations, ships and "spying embassies".

I propose they do ID for plane boarding. All Muslims, who swear to Allah go through one line, and anyone willing to carry a cartoon with the prophet and a firecracker in his head dress, gets to go in another line...simple.
Really? I thought he was the only terrorist in the world!
“For all muslim/middle-eastern appearing passengers, flight 246 is now ready for waterboarding.”
Thanks once again to a foreign source to state the obvious while the US msm is still pushing the “lone man too dumb to blow up firecrackers” scenario.
Thank God that the attack was foiled.
But I can’t help thinking, that if it had succeeded, we would never be told that it was a terror attack, they would blame it on pilot error or failure of some equipment on the plane.
bttt
Make him comfortable, provide him with cable TV, give him plenty of food and rest until he spills his guts!
So what?! The system worked!
Good idea, but some American voters feel that it's overstepping to ask a Muslim for ID.
TWA 800. Again.
If a certain “sharp-dressed man” hadn’t been able to talk this pig onto the plane, we could’ve said that the system worked. It broke down when someone broke the rules at boarding.
“I thought he was the only terrorist in the world!”
Correction: the only conveyor of man made disasters. /sarc
For all Freepers who fly, either regularly or occasionally:
1. Be wary, trust no one; Richard Reed doesn’t look middle-eastern
2. It is illegal for the government and its agencies to “profile”. Individual citizens’ simple opinions of others around them are not litigable.
3. Simple assault is usually a fine but could also include a short stay in jail; worth it if you short-circuit a terror attempt.
4. The events of the AirTrans (ATL to IAH) flight were designed to terrorize; you don’t have to sit idly if you feel threatened.
5. Always assume the flight has no air marshall.
OK, for my money, along about the end of the week, Yemen ought to be renamed Glassland.
What are you, one of those "listers"?
You are exactly right. They would pass it off on some bogus defect in the aircraft, like they did with TWA 800.
