Expect more CYA as the dummies try to obscure the fact that they and they alone are responsible for this mess.

Blaming the GOP after locking them out of any and all negotiations is so Napolitano attempting to bend reality.

He keeps asking of his Republican collegues “where’s the courage?”. I guess the pubbies needed more liquid courage to vote for this health insurance bill.

Bacchus?
He was also known as Bacchus, the name adopted by the Romans[2] and the frenzy he induces, bakkheia. He is the patron deity of agriculture and the theater. He was also known as the Liberator (Eleutherios), freeing one from one’s normal self, by madness, ecstasy, or wine.

How can one explain this incredibly bizarre performance by Max Baucus on the Senate floor?

It hardly matters whether Baucus was drunk or otherwise. Indeed if not intoxicated the indictment is even worse, that is his sober behavior!

That performance is unbelievable. There was a comment on FR that was not unusual for a Senate speech. Well then isn't that a graphic portrayal of their arrogance, that they can act like that in "their" own chamber (which actually belongs to us)? Isn't that a graphic reason for legislation to be returned to the "chambers," like the States, where the legislators are more closely monitored and accountable to the citizens?

Any way one looks at it this is a blatant indictment of the arrogance and sickness of the privileged, centralized, Federal legislators, and Democrats are far and away the most heinous.

How can the Media, or the State of Montana for that matter, possibly apologize or defend this buffoon?

Like Al Franken or Barabara Boxer they are absent any class whatsoever. Toad Hall.

I believe this was actually a tribute to the late great Ted Kennedy. What other politician, or even well known person, is associated more with overconsumption of alcohol? Sure, Dean Martin was close back in the 1960’s but Ted got it done for decades! From Chappy to frolicking on the lawn in Florida while a relative raped a woman.....

Gotta love that “conservative” fire. Those nasty old conservatives are picking on poor Max. Hey, you’d drink too if you had to work in the Senate . . . . .

There have been many court cases thrown out on appeal when it was learned a judge or lawyer was intoxicated during the hearing.

Just a thought, with Baucus obviously intoxicated durig the deliberations/voting on the bill, would his “condition” assist in an appeal to bring down DeathCare in the courts?

A unconstitutional bill, deliberated on an passed by inebriated senators, some who were openly bribed for their votes. Even the 9th Circus would have a hard time justifying the bills passage into law.

Any legal minds out there have an opinion on it?

Another standard for normal people.
